THE VILLAGE IS NOT SAVED! MANY HOUSES IN JAWAINIYA GOT SUBMERGED IN GANGA DUE TO EROSION

Who knows how many dreams were crushed and a dream house was built, which got submerged in water in a moment. Now only the memories of that house and the memories associated with it are left in the mind. Due to erosion, the entire village has become a danger zone. Almost all the people of the village have taken out their belongings from their houses. People are just standing to guard the deserted houses, hoping that some miracle will happen and the erosion will stop. Due to terrible erosion in the Ganga river near Jawainiya village, about half a dozen houses got submerged in erosion on Monday morning. Seeing the houses getting submerged in water in front of their eyes, people's eyes became stone and their hearts sank. 'The village is not saved!' A victim said, Babu, the pain of erosion has become unbearable now. The village is not being extinguished! The fast flow of water of the Ganges river and the waves rising with the winds are scaring people.

ARA-----------------------------Who knows how many dreams were crushed and a dream house was built, which got submerged in water in a moment.

Many houses of the village get submerged in water with every movement of Halfi. In such a situation, the people whose houses are left are busy sending all the belongings of their houses to their relatives for safekeeping. There is a feeling of desolation along with screams.

Along with the houses, hundreds of huge trees standing for decades also got submerged in water due to erosion. The villagers are busy helping each other in taking out the belongings from the houses. People are breaking their houses with JCB machines and taking the belongings to safe places in small and big vehicles.

The local administration along with the workers is continuously engaged in relief and rescue work in the village. CO Rashmi Sagar and Block Development Officer Shatrunjay Kumar Singh said that on the demand of local people and public representatives, a community kitchen is being run in the high school of Jawainiya village, in which all kinds of facilities are being provided according to the needs of the affected people.

Along with this, a second community kitchen will be run on the Buxar-Koilwar embankment near Jawainiya village from Monday evening.

On the other hand, Shahpur MLA Rahul Tiwari has held the government responsible for the ongoing Ganga erosion in Jawainiya village of Shahpur block of Bhojpur district by showing a copy of the question asked in the assembly and the answer received.

MLA Rahul Tiwari, in a press note issued on Monday, has made public the starred questions asked by him in the assembly in 2023 regarding the erosion of Jawainiya village and the letters of reply received from the government.

In response, it has been told in writing by the government that at present no erosion is being reflected. If erosion is reflected in the flood period 2023, it will be secured by getting flood control work done. Not only this, MLA Rahul Tiwari has also made public the letter given to the Chief Minister in 2019 regarding stopping erosion, stating that erosion has been going on from Nauranga since 20 years ago.

Rahul Tiwari stressed that since becoming an MLA, I have followed the MLA Dharma towards stopping erosion. But the government is not doing its work. All the evidence of my letter and questioning in the assembly and the government's reply has been made public, which can be seen, read and examined.

MLA Rahul Tiwari has said that in 2024, I have played a key role in getting one lakh twenty thousand rupees to 59 erosion-affected people of Jawainia village to build a new house and land papers and one lakh to 30 landless people.

In this regard, he took necessary work including active initiative and correspondence by meeting every capable institution and person. MLA Rahul Tiwari said that I am taking personal initiative with the district administration and making personal efforts with senior officials to provide immediate shelter to the people affected by the current erosion at a safe place, to provide vehicles for carrying goods, polythene sheets, langar, water and other essential facilities.
