ARA------------------------The Bhagavata Ramanuja Thenkalai Sampradaya Sabha (BRTSS), an assembly of the traditional Acharya traditions (74 Aryas and Jeeyars) of Sri Ramanuja's descendants, was established with the aim of unifying the principles established by Saint Ramanuja. It was formed at a function at the Kamral Memorial Hall on Sunday.
The Sabha aims to continue Ramanuja's vision and unite the various traditional Mathas and Tirumaligais. V. Narayanan, the organization's convener, said that the Acharyas of Sri Ramanuja's 74 Simhasanadhipati traditions have so far provided separate guidance to devotees. He said, "It is a major effort to bring them together. This organization will serve as a bridge between Sri Vaishnavas of the Thenkalai Sampradaya and devotees of other sects."
In addition to video recordings of acharyas who could not attend in person, the event featured spiritual discourses by Venkatesh On Ramanuja and M.A. Venkatakrishnan On Ember Swami, his chief disciple.
Prathivadi Bhayankaram Annangarachar Swami and speaker Akkarakani Srinidhi Swami spoke about the work of Jeeyars in North India, especially Lakshmi Prapanna Jeeyar of Buxar in Bihar.
