ARA-----------------------A fierce clash broke out between police and villagers on Friday morning in Dullamchak village, under the Chauri police station area of Bhojpur district. What began as a minor altercation quickly escalated into violence. Enraged villagers attacked the police team with bricks and stones, damaging more than half a dozen police vehicles. A sub-inspector and a watchman were injured in the incident. A heavy police presence has been deployed in the area, and the administration is closely monitoring the situation.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Friday morning when rumors spread about the presence of two suspicious youths in the village. It is reported that villagers spotted two youths from Gulzarpur in suspicious circumstances, armed with weapons. They then began beating them.

Meanwhile, the Chauri police station was informed of the incident. Police immediately arrived at the scene and attempted to rescue the suspects from the mob. But during this time, a heated argument broke out between the villagers and the police.

The villagers alleged that the police tried to protect the suspects and give them a chance to escape. Enraged by this, the villagers targeted the police team and launched a heavy stone pelting. Six police vehicles were damaged in the sudden attack, and the windows of several vehicles were shattered. Some private vehicles were also damaged.

A sub-inspector and a watchman were injured in the stone pelting and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Upon receiving information about the attack, police from several nearby police stations, led by SDPO K.K. Singh, arrived at the scene. With the help of additional forces, the police used mild force to disperse the crowd. The situation was brought under control after about an hour.

According to officials, the two young suspects took advantage of the chaos during the clash and escaped. Police later conducted a search operation in the area and recovered a country-made pistol.

Local sources say that during voting on Thursday, two groups clashed over electoral rivalry in Dullamchak village. This incident occurred on Friday amid the same tense atmosphere. Villagers allege that the police adopted a biased approach during the previous day's incident, which inflamed the villagers' anger.

Bhojpur police officials clarified that the villagers took the law into their own hands, leading to this situation. According to the police, they had only arrived to protect the suspects from mob violence, but the villagers attacked them.

Police have registered a case against several unidentified individuals in this matter, including sections of obstructing government work, vandalism, and assault.

The situation in the village is reported to be tense but under control. The administration has deployed additional police forces in the area and is conducting flag marches to prevent any untoward incidents.

Upon learning of the incident, local public representatives also reached the spot and appealed to the villagers to maintain peace. Officials and local leaders have started efforts to establish dialogue between the two sides so that normalcy can be restored in the village as soon as possible.
