BHABHUA-------------------------In Durgavati—the principal market area of the block—unknown thieves broke the locks of the Mahavir Temple and stole the gold-plated eyes from the idol of Lord Hanuman, which was enshrined in the sanctum sanctorum. As soon as news of this incident reached the people in the market, a pall of silence descended upon the area. In connection with this matter, the Durgavati Puja Committee filed a formal complaint against unidentified individuals at the Durgavati Police Station, leading to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR). With the FIR registered, the police have commenced their investigation. It now remains to be seen whether the police will succeed in solving this theft case—which occurred in a temple situated just a short distance from the police station—or if they will fail to do so.
