COMMISSIONER INSPECTED VARIOUS POLLING STATIONS AND HELD A REVIEW MEETING

During this, he inspected the polling stations of various assembly constituencies of the district and inquired about the progress of the work related to the electoral list.

ARA------------------------------Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Commissioner of Patna Division, appointed as Electoral List Observer by the Election Commission of India, arrived on a tour of Bhojpur district on Tuesday. During this, he inspected the polling stations of various assembly constituencies of the district and inquired about the progress of the work related to the electoral list.
During the inspection, the Commissioner inspected polling stations number 42, 43, 44 and 45 of Udwantnagar block of 192-Sandesh Assembly constituency and polling stations number 256, 257, 258, 259 and 260 under Ara Sadar block of 194-Ara Assembly constituency.
During this, District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate Bhojpur, Deputy Development Commissioner, Electoral Registration Officer-cum-SDO Ara Sadar, Deputy Election Officer, BDO Udwantnagar, supervisors of the concerned polling stations, BLO, BLA, local public representatives and voters were present with him.
During the inspection, Commissioner Dr. Singh received information about the work being done under the special intensive revision program from BLO, local representatives and voters. He gave clear instructions that no eligible voter should be deprived of the electoral list and special care should be taken to ensure that the name of any ineligible voter is not added to the list.
He talked about establishing better coordination with the Booth Level Agent (BLA), so that the work can be completed in a timely and transparent manner. He also said that political parties should ensure that the youth who are completing 18 years of age by August 1, 2025, should fill Form-6 to get their name registered in the voter list, so that they can vote in the upcoming assembly elections. Also, emphasis was also laid on the process of including the name of women in the voter list after marriage.
After the inspection, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the work done so far in the district. After this, a review meeting was held in the Collectorate Auditorium with the Honorable MP, MLA, representatives of recognized political parties, Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers.
In the meeting, first of all, District Magistrate Bhojpur presented the information about the special intensive revision program going on in the district. Thereafter, the Commissioner interacted with the MP, MLA and representatives of political parties and got their feedback. The solution to the questions asked by the representatives in the meeting was also presented by the Commissioner.
The commissioner directed all the electoral registration officers and assistant electoral registration officers to include the names of all the eligible voters—especially the youth and women—who were left out under the special campaign in the voter list. He also appealed to the public representatives to actively cooperate in the claim-objection process, so that the name of every eligible citizen can be included in the voter list.
MPs of Ara Lok Sabha constituency, MLAs of 194-Ara, 195-Agiaon and 197-Jagdishpur assembly constituencies, District Magistrate Bhojpur, Superintendent of Police Bhojpur, Deputy Development Commissioner, Additional Collector, all electoral registration officers, Deputy Election Officers, District Land Acquisition Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Presidents/Secretaries/Representatives of all recognized political parties were present in the meeting.
