Revenue employees consider it an insult to receive calls from the public. When revenue employee Paras Bhaskar doesn't even answer calls, why is there a need to display the number? The government's intention is to have most public work done online without visiting government offices. Why don't officials comply? According to sources, the problem of revenue employees not answering phones is rampant throughout the state. The phones of brokers, people with connections, and commission-seeking friends are answered as soon as they ring.
The problem of not answering public calls is prevalent only among the state's revenue employees, as reported by the public. Irresponsibility to the Public – When a person traveling to a government office from a distant location learns that an official is on tour or on leave, they contact the official by phone, but the official's phone is either switched off, out of reach, or simply doesn't answer. This creates a mountain of trouble for the individual. The expense of travel, the time wasted, and the pain of not getting their work done further exacerbate the suffering of ordinary people. Regardless of the public's difficulties, all revenue officials have adopted a rule of not picking up the phone. Generally, the primary function of government representatives is to provide convenience to the public. It is their responsibility to resolve public issues as per the system. However, officials often avoid responsibility by simply passing the buck in the name of duty. They often pretend to be so busy that they don't even return calls from people who call with their problems and concerns. Many times people call the officers and concerned employees to get information regarding their work, but it is unlikely that any officer or employee receives the call and solves the problem of the concerned person or gives advice.
