PATNA--------------------------Bahubal MLA Anant Singh, who won a landslide victory in the Mokama seat in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, has suffered a major setback. The special court in the Dular Chand murder case has rejected his bail plea.
The court refused to grant bail to Anant Singh, citing the seriousness of the case. According to reports, Anant Singh, known as 'Chhote Sarkar', is now considering approaching the Patna High Court. Last month, the court remanded him to judicial custody in the Dular Chand murder case. He has been incarcerated in Patna's Beur Jail since then.
It is noteworthy that Anant Singh won the election from Mokama while in Beur Jail. On October 30th, Bahubali Dular Chand Yadav was murdered during election campaigning in the Tal area of Mokama, causing widespread panic in the area. Dularchand Yadav was campaigning for Jansuraj candidate Piyush Priyadarshi when the convoys of Anant Singh and Piyush came face to face, and the situation became tense.
During this, supporters of both parties clashed, resulting in stone-pelting and gunfire. Dularchand Yadav was killed during this clash, causing widespread unrest in the area.
