The incident occurred in Kharicha village, within the jurisdiction of the Garhani police station. The deceased, Nitish Kumar (18), was a resident of Saraiya village in Krishnagarh. He had passed his Intermediate examinations with a First Division earlier this year and was preparing for a government job. His cousin, Prince, hails from Semariya village. The deceased's younger brother, Amit Kumar, stated that they were traveling to Bhedari village in Aayar to attend the Tilak ceremony of their maternal aunt, Seema Devi's, daughter.

Both cousins ​​had set out together on a motorcycle. On the way, a truck collided with them. Following the accident, locals rushed them to a hospital, where doctors pronounced Nitish dead. After a post-mortem examination at the Sadar Hospital, the police handed over the body to the family members. Nitish was the second of three siblings. His surviving family members include his mother, Manju Devi; his brother, Amit Kumar; and his sister, Lalati Devi. All members of the family, including his mother, are inconsolable with grief.
