BHABHUA------------------------The Mohania Assembly constituency, a reserved seat in Kaimur district, has become one of the most talked-about constituencies in the Bihar elections. The political equations here changed drastically when the nomination of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Shweta Suman was rejected, and the RJD threw its support behind independent candidate Ravi Shankar Paswan.

Mohania Assembly constituency (a reserved seat) has become a hot seat in Kaimur district these days. Following the rejection of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Shweta Suman's nomination, the RJD has thrown its support behind independent candidate Ravi Shankar Paswan. Ravi Shankar Paswan is the son of Chhedi Paswan, the former BJP MP from Sasaram constituency. The father's entry into the campaign after his son received the support of the RJD (Grand Alliance) has come as a surprise.

Former MP Chhedi Paswan, who came to campaign for his son, not only appealed for Ravi Paswan's victory but also openly supported the Grand Alliance's Chief Ministerial candidate. He said that Ravi Paswan should win with the maximum number of votes. If Ravi Paswan wins, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will also become the Chief Minister of Bihar.

Dismissing any talk of separation from his party (BJP), he said that he had come to campaign on his own discretion, to ensure the victory of his party member. He also made an emotional appeal, saying that Ravi Shankar Paswan is first a son of the region, and then his son. This statement appears to be a direct challenge to the BJP.

The Mohania seat has always been considered a safe seat for the BJP, but this time, the support of the RJD to an independent candidate and Chhedi Paswan's participation in the campaign could change the electoral equations. This 2025 contest in the Mohania seat is special because the voters here deviate from traditional party lines and prioritize regional identity and personal relationships.
