ARA--------------------------We need Dev Sanskriti to take the nation to the ultimate glory. Teachers should pay special attention to character building of students. Professor Sachchidanand Singh said this on Friday in the Teachers' Day program organized by Senior Citizen Welfare Association of India. Retired teacher Subhavati Devi, who was honored on this occasion, emphasized that students should also study moral education apart from the curriculum. Patron of the organization Dr. Kamala Kumari Singh, Professor Renu Mishra and Kanchan Prabha, Kiran Devi threw light on the personality and work of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. National General Secretary Dr. Diwakar Pandey discussed the education system from Vedic period to the present time and its merits and demerits. While chairing the meeting, National President Dhirendra Prasad Singh said that the study of moral education should be made compulsory in colleges. In the absence of moral education, students deviate from their main objective. District Patron Raghav Prasad Singh, Ravindra Singh, Uday Pratap Singh, Anant Prasad Shrivastava, Nathuni Pandey, Umesh Rai, Ashok Kumar Choudhary, Satyanarayan Singh, Govardhan Singh, Dinesh Kumar Singh, Ravindra Nath, Jogendra Singh, Sushil Rai also expressed their views on the occasion of Teachers' Day and raised the demand for comprehensive reforms in education. District President Harendra Singh and Jag Bali Singh described the teacher as the mirror of the society and asked the students to progress towards character building. In the end, the programme was declared over with the national anthem.
