DEMAND FOR RECOGNITION OF BHOJPURI LANGUAGE DURING MODI’S SHAHABAD VISIT DEMAND TO GIVE SCADA LAND TO VKSU IN LIEU OF MEDICAL COLLEGE
During the visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Vikraganj in old Shahabad district today, the demand for inclusion of Bhojpuri language in the eight schedule of the Indian constitution and meeting of intellectuals associated with Bhojpuri students union and other organizations held in the Bhojpuri department auditorium of the Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU).
ARA (RNI) During the visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Vikraganj in old Shahabad district today, the demand for inclusion of Bhojpuri language in the eight schedule of the Indian constitution and meeting of intellectuals associated with Bhojpuri students union and other organizations held in the Bhojpuri department auditorium of the Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU).
In the meeting, Senator, VKSU, Prof. Baliraj Thakur said that Bhojpuri is a large and rich language in terms of literature, area and speakers, not getting recognition till now is injustice to Bhojpuri people. Vinod Singh of Bhojpuri Jan Morcha said that the role of Bhojpuri people in nation building cannot be denied but due to not getting recognition till now, Bhojpuri region is backward in social and economic terms.
Former Head of Department Neeraj Singh said that the government cannot ignorethe decades-old demand of Bhojpuri movement now. Bhojpuri Student Union Co-Convenor Sohit Sinha said that the university’s land was allotted to the medical college and by not giving land in return till date, the existence of Shahabad’s only university has been questioned.
Prof. Diwakar Pandey, Head of Department of Bhojpuri, VKSU said that the demand of giving the land of the SCADA campus to the VKSI should be fulfilled soon and giving recognition to Bhojpuri will open new vista of education and research. Bhojpuri Student Union convenor Syandan Suman, former member, Bhojpuri Academy Delhi Government's Ravi Prakash Suraj were also spoke.
All the speakers appealed to the PM to announce the recognition of Bhojpuri. Members of organizations like Bhojpuri Janjagran Abhiyan, Bhojpuri Student Union, Shahabad Mahotsav Organizing Committee, Bikramganj Bhojpuri Samagam, Rohtas District Facebook Portal and others participated in the tweet campaign by tagging the PM and the Home Minister Amit Shah from the social media platform X. It is known that many organizations associated with the Bhojpuri movement have become vocal about the recognition of Bhojpuri.
