PATNA----------------------A resolution was passed in the Council of Ministers of Bihar on September 19, 2023 itself, so that writ and tax petitions can also be filed in Hindi in the Patna High Court. But in the light of the said decision, the notification has not been issued yet, due to which the petitioners in Hindi are still facing obstacles in the Patna High Court. The state government should issue the notification as soon as possible.

Addressing a press conference organized by the All India Bhasha Sanrakshan Sangathan, Delhi, at the Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan on Tuesday, the organization's president and well-known social worker Harpal Singh Rana made this demand from the state government. He said that it is surprising that even in Bihar, the work that is expected for Hindi is not being done.

While talking to reporters, Dr. Anil Sulabh, President of the Sahitya Sammelan, agreed with the views of Mr. Rana and said that it is sad that Hindi is being neglected even in Bihar, the first state in the country to declare Hindi as the official language. Along with all the government works of the state, all the works in all universities and judiciary should also be done in the official language. He read out the resolution number- 34 passed in the meeting of the Council of Ministers on 19 September 2023, which mentions that – “In compliance with the order passed by the Hon'ble High Court, Patna on 30-o4-2019 in CR-WJC No.- 435/15 Krishna Yadav vs State of Bihar and others, the notification of the Cabinet (Official Language) Secretariat dated 09-05-1972 should be considered amended to the extent that English or Hindi can be used for the petition to be presented under Articles 226 and 227 of the Indian Constitution and the application related to tax-instruction.”

Famous advocate Indradev Prasad, who is agitating in the courts for Hindi, said that due to non-issuance of notification of the said decision of the Council of Ministers, there is confusion among the judges of Patna High Court. Due to this, advocates who speak Hindi are being discriminated against.

National President of All India Advocates Welfare Committee Dharmanath Prasad Yadav, Joint Secretary of Advocates Association, Patna High Court, Ranvijay Singh, Dr. Alok Kumar Sinha, Advocate Vinod Kumar, Advocate Mantu Kumar, Advocate Sunil Kumar Singh, Advocate Jitendra Kumar, Advocate Rupesh Kumar, Conference Managing Minister Krishnaranjan Singh and Building-Guardian Praveer Kumar Pankaj were also present in the dialogue.
