ARA-------------------------This time the land of Bhojpur is going to witness a historic moment. On August 30, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav will reach Ara under the Voter Rights Yatra. Both the leaders will do a padyatra of about 30 kilometers. Regarding this, a joint meeting of India Alliance was held in Ara, in which the outline and preparations of the program were discussed.
The meeting was chaired by Congress District President Ashok Ram, while the vote of thanks was given by CPIML District Secretary Jawahar Prasad. Chief guest Jharkhand MLA and Bhojpur in-charge Kumar Jai Mangal alias Anoop Singh said that this padyatra is not of any party but a fight for the rights of the common people. He called it historic for Bhojpur.
Changing the venue, the meeting will now be held in Maharaja College campus instead of Veer Kunwar Singh Stadium. At the same time, a helipad is being constructed in the stadium in view of VIP movement. A coordination committee has also been formed for the smooth conduct of the yatra, in which Buxar MLA Sanjay Tiwari, Rajpur MLA Vishwanath Ram and former Legislative Councilor Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh have been given responsibility.
A large number of leaders and workers including former Union Minister Kanti Singh, Lal Das Rai, Ram Vishnu Lohia were present in the meeting. Congress spokesperson Amit Dwivedi said that this yatra is a public movement against those who steal votes.
Former state general secretary of Youth Congress Abhishek Dwivedi said that the government and the Election Commission are trying to make the 'people' disappear from democracy by removing names from the voter list. The public will answer this in the elections.
The opposition is calling Rahul-Tejaswi's padayatra in Bhojpur a symbol of "awakening of voter rights" and change in politics.
