UPROAR OVER DEATH OF MOTHER AND CHILD, DOCTOR AND STAFF ESCAPED

BUXAR----------------------In evening, following the death of a mother and her newborn during childbirth at an illegal nursing home in Raghunathpur, Brahmapur block, family members and villagers created a huge ruckus. As the situation escalated, the alleged doctor and all the staff of the nursing home fled the scene. The police, upon receiving the information, somehow managed to calm the situation.

According to reports, 35-year-old Pooja Devi, wife of Rakesh Chaudhary of Ekraasi village, was brought to the Raghunathpur Community Health Center by her family for delivery on Tuesday. Pooja Devi already had two daughters. Doctors at the government hospital, seeing her critical condition, referred her to Buxar.

However, alleged touts active at the community health center misled the family and admitted her to an illegal nursing home in Raghunathpur. The family alleges that these touts, for the sake of commission, send patients to illegal clinics under the pretext of referrals.

At the nursing home, the alleged doctor performed surgery on Pooja Devi, during which the newborn died. Shortly after, Pooja Devi also succumbed. Upon hearing the news of the mother and child's death, the family and villagers became enraged and created a huge commotion at the nursing home. Seeing the escalating anger, the doctor and staff fled the scene.

As the news of the incident spread, a large number of people from Ekraasi village also reached Raghunathpur. The villagers allege that dozens of illegal nursing homes are operating near the government hospital with the connivance of the health department. Touts have a strong hold at the community health center, and they send referred patients to these illegal establishments for the sake of commission. The police are investigating the matter. The villagers have demanded action against the illegal nursing home and the arrest of those responsible.
