ARA--------------------------Chaos erupted on the Koilwar Six-Lane Bridge on Saturday afternoon when a school bus collided head-on with a container truck. The accident occurred in the middle of the bridge, causing a long traffic jam on both sides for some time. About a dozen children were on board the school bus. Fortunately, all the children are reported to be safe, although one child suffered minor injuries. According to eyewitnesses, the school bus was traveling on the wrong side when it collided with an oncoming container.

The impact was so severe that the front of the bus was severely damaged, and the driver was trapped under the steering wheel. After about half an hour of intense effort and the help of a gas cutter, locals extricated the driver. The injured driver has been identified as Satendra Singh, a resident of Kishunpura in the Bihta police station area. He was rushed to Bihta Hospital in critical condition, where his condition is stated to be critical.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Koilwar Police Station Officer Narottam Chandra arrived at the scene. He immediately initiated relief operations and sent the injured driver to the hospital. Traffic was restored by removing the accident vehicles from the road.

According to information, the bus belonged to Bihta Public School and had come to Koilwar to drop off children after school. After safely dropping the children home, the bus was returning to Bihta when the accident occurred.

Local residents have appealed to the administration to take strict action against vehicles traveling in the wrong direction on the bridge, to prevent such accidents in the future.
