ARA----------------------------National President of Senior Citizen Welfare Association of India, Dhirendra Prasad Singh, wrote a letter to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, requesting him to constitute a Senior Citizen Forum in all 38 districts for senior citizens, to prepare a list of senior citizens in all police stations of the state through the forum and to guarantee their safety, to allot a vehicle with a special number for senior citizens which will provide assistance to senior citizens in any situation whenever required. Mr. Singh said that like other states, he has reiterated the demand to give ₹10,000 to each senior citizen of Bihar every year and to gather the senior citizens in the respective city and honour them every year. Mr. Singh has also demanded that the construction of old age homes in each district should be completed by the end of the year 2026. It is worth noting that the number of senior citizens in the entire country is approximately 11 crore, whereas the number of citizens in Bihar is 55 lakh. These days, senior citizens have to face many kinds of problems, its solution can be found only through the Senior Citizens Forum, in which the representatives of the affiliated organization Senior Citizens Welfare Association of India can be included in each district and the problems can be resolved.
