ARA--------------------------The effigy of Ara Municipal Commissioner was burnt by Bihar State Auto E-Rickshaw Tempo Drivers Association Ara against illegal collection by the contractor in connivance with Ara Municipal Corporation. This procession started from the bus stand and reached Ara Railway Station premises through the city roads and turned into a meeting. The meeting was presided over by Secretary Kiran Prasad. This program was organized against illegal collection by tempo drivers, implementation of 15 rupees per coupon under a municipal corporation, guarantee of making permanent tempo e-rickshaw stand, guarantee of making all tempo e-rickshaw stands encroachment free and daily cleaning, guarantee of putting up rate table in all stands, providing drinking water facility in all tempo e-rickshaw stands, making tempo e-rickshaw stand at Sheesh Mahal Chowk, following traffic rules etc. Hundreds of tempo drivers participated in the program. Addressing the gathering after the effigy burning, CPI-ML leaders said that in connivance with the employees of Ara Municipal Corporation, officers and the mayor, in their personal interest, the departmental collectors of the corporation and the settlement holders and their associates are forcibly collecting toll from the private persons in the stands instead of taking Rs 15 from the tempo drivers and if they do not pay, the tempo drivers are being beaten up and no facilities are being given to the tempo drivers! These days, tempo and e-rickshaw drivers are being exploited by the police and goons! Tempo drivers are being beaten up and even murdered by criminals but the district administration is not providing security to the tempo and e-rickshaw drivers! Further, the speakers said that if the district administration and the municipal corporation do not implement Rs 15 per coupon, then Bihar State Auto E-Rickshaw Tempo Drivers Association Ara will hold a huge demonstration in front of the Bhojpur District Magistrate on July 5 regarding these questions! Tempo strike will be held! In the program CPI-ML city secretary Sudhir Kumar Singh, district office secretary Dilraj Pritam, city committee members Rajendra Yadav, Manoj Gupta, Dhananjay Singh alias Chhote Singh, Raju Ojha, Raju Khan, Paramatma Paswan, Ajay Yadav, Sanjay Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Priyanshu Kumar, Chandan Prasad, Pappu Kumar, Sanjay Singh, Mohd. Shamshad, Ashok Singh, Ganesh Kumar, Mohd. Chunnu, Surendra Prasad, Bhagwati Prasad, Kailash Prasad and Shyam Paswan, Prince Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Sunny Prasad, Akash Kumar, Samim Kumar, Manjay Yadav, Abhishek Kumar, Bangaru driver, Ramchandra Sharma, Manoj Kumar, Manoj Shah, Guddu Kumar, Suraj Kumar, Pramod Kesari, Mannu Kumar, Visheshwar Prasad, Annual Haque, Shankar Paswan, Kamlesh Ram and hundreds of tempo drivers were present.
