DEMAND TO LINK NEWLY NAMED ‘G RAM G’ SCHEME WITH AGRICULTURE LABOUR DAYS

20-DEC-ENG 3

RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

ARA---------------------------Rajendra Pathak, a farmer, poet, lawyer, and independent candidate from the Tarari assembly constituency, has demanded that the central government's newly named and proposed 'VB G Ram Ji' scheme be linked to agricultural labor days. To draw attention to this need, he has officially emailed the ground realities to the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister through the Chief Secretary of Bihar.

While presenting this issue of agricultural interest, Rajendra Pathak has highlighted to both governments the need to provide wages to agricultural laborers under the 'VB G Ram Ji' scheme as a labor subsidy for agricultural work in Bihar. He has also drawn attention to the aspects of linking the newly named and proposed 'VB G Ram Ji' scheme to the agricultural work of farmers in Bihar and has written that due to the shortage of laborers and the cost of labor in farming, linking it to labor and employment will provide farmers with direct and honest benefits such as labor subsidies and socio-economic incentives. This system will ensure that people receive fair work, its benefits, and their wages, instead of the lower-level corruption prevalent in the MNREGA wage system.

According to Mr. Pathak's memorandum, if even 50 labor/employment days out of the total 125 days of the proposed scheme are initially provided as a subsidy for agricultural work, agricultural productivity will increase significantly, and both farmers and agricultural laborers will benefit greatly from this system.  Furthermore, this provision will truly realize the important conceptual framework of V – Developed B – India G – Guarantor for R – Employment and A – Livelihood M – Mission G – Rural for the rural farmers of Bihar.

It has also been stated that this issue of linking MNREGA to agriculture has been raised by farmers before the central and state governments, and public opinion and farmer signatures have also been obtained in support of this. The reader has stated through the application that if they receive instructions from the government, they will always be ready to present their written or oral views on this entire concept to the government, along with the farmers.
