PATNA------------------------Bihar Congress has announced 'Voter Rights Yatra' to reach out to the public before the upcoming assembly elections. This historic campaign will start from Rohtas district from August 17, which will be led by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal issued a press release saying that party president Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed co-ordinators in 25 districts for the preparations of the yatra. Congress Bihar unit president Rajesh Ram said that the main objective of this yatra is to protect democracy, maintain the power of the franchise and the dignity of the Constitution.

Describing it as a "historic step", Rajesh Ram said that this campaign is a big effort to strengthen voter rights and make the public aware. He held a meeting with party officials regarding the preparations and also shared the message on the social media platform 'X'.

According to sources, during the yatra, Congress workers will go door to door and make people aware about the importance of voting rights and will call for maximum voting in the elections.
