In this regard, the Lok Sabha Speaker termed the role of social organizations as extremely important in the overall development of the society and the nation.
Birla said that it is a shared responsibility to realise the spirit of “Antyodaya” (upliftment of the last person) and to ensure that no person of the society is left behind in the race of progress. He also said that the efforts of the Jain community in this regard are inspiring and exemplary. Shri Birla said that the youth of India are huge not only in numbers but also in terms of determination. They have a passion for change, ability to shape the future and zeal to build the nation. He said that the youth are not only becoming job seekers but also job givers. He said that campaigns like Start-up India, Skill India, Make in India and Green Energy Mission have given a positive direction to their energy.
Birla said this while addressing the “JITEM Youth Summit 2025” organised by Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) in Gurugram today. Birla said that JITO is not just a community organisation for trade and business but an institution where business, innovation, Jain principles, Jain ideas, teachings of Jain saints and philosophy of Lord Mahavira co-exist. He also said that JITO is a platform where new technology, ideas and innovations are shared. He said that JITO is setting an example in this direction. Through economic, educational and service-oriented activities, this organisation is not only empowering the Jain community but is also contributing significantly to the development of India.
Birla said that the Jain community has established an important place in the nation due to its ethics and spiritual faith, whether it is in business, industry, social sector, urban politics, technology and science, social service or government service. He said that not only in India, but also in many other countries, the Jain community has contributed to progress, prosperity and well-being. Shri Birla informed that ethical thoughts, social cooperation, dedication, service, sacrifice, global peace and goodwill are the core principles of the Jain community.
In his address on the strength of Indian democracy, Birla said that Indian democracy is not just a post-independence phenomenon but it is deeply embedded in the nation's work-ethics, culture, conduct, spiritual beliefs and collective welfare of the society. Shri Birla recalled that at the time of independence, many countries believed that democracy would not succeed in a large and diverse nation like India, but India proved them wrong. He said that the nation has always had a culture of consultation, social effort and collective resolve in times of crisis, which enables the nation to face challenges unitedly.
