ARA--------------------------The water level of Ganga, Son and Gandak rivers is continuously rising in Bhojpur district of Bihar. Due to which the flood situation is gradually becoming serious. In the last 36 hours, the water level of Ganga river has increased from 25 cm to 52.85 meters, which is just 23 cm below the danger mark.

Many villages cut off from connectivity: The rising water level of rivers is directly affecting the coastal areas and low-lying areas. Due to which many villages of the district have been cut off from connectivity. By last Thursday evening, river water started flowing on the road in many areas. Due to which traffic was completely disrupted. However, the officials of the flood control department are constantly monitoring the situation.

Allegation of district administration of doing formality: A villager from Mani Rai Tola of Barhara block said that the situation here is very bad. Flood prevention work is being done by the district administration, but only formality is being done in the name of flood prevention work. At some places, instead of sand, only soil is being filled in the sacks. Due to which, instead of stopping the erosion, the sacks are also flowing in the erosion.

"We have vacated our houses. Due to fear, we are living in huts on the road. At night, the sound of the river Ganga is very loud. Due to which we have become afraid. When will we be submerged in the Ganga. Nothing can be said." Santosh Prasad, local resident

Demand for land at another place: Local resident Santosh Prasad further said that our demand from the government is that there is a flood here every year. In such a situation, the government should provide us land at another place, so that we can live safely. We are farmers. Our fields have also been submerged in the Ganga. Now the only way to earn a living is labour.

Anger among local people: Local residents said that due to erosion, the river Ganga has come close to our houses. In such a situation, the village will not exist in the coming time. No concrete steps are taken by the district administration. Only a senior officer of the district administration has said that you should leave your house, but the district administration does not tell you where to go.
