ARA-------------------------A lecture on "The Role of Women in the Success of Democracy" was held on Friday at Mahant Mahadevanand Women's College in Ara city. The program was jointly inaugurated by Principal Prof. Narendra Pratap Palit, BBC News anchor Sarika Singh, Padmashree Dr. Bhim Singh "Bhavesh," and Dr. Anamika. Principal Prof. Palit welcomed the guests with bouquets and shawls.

The keynote speaker, Ms. Sarika Singh, a senior news anchor for BBC News Hindi, interacted with the students, providing numerous examples to satisfy their curiosity and inspire them to move forward. She emphasized that women must be empowered to strengthen democracy. Women from rural backgrounds face many challenges to advance. We should never assume that others are more talented than us. Women must enter politics and participate in national policymaking.

Padmashree Dr. Bhim Singh 'Bhavesh' said that when he visited Dalit settlements, people ridiculed him. However, he never allowed himself to feel inferior and, by spreading education among Dalits, integrated them into the mainstream of society. Awareness is essential to strengthen democracy.

Presiding Principal Prof. Palit said that for democracy to succeed, women are actively participating in voting, election to political positions, and public policymaking. They are often more sensitive to social and economic issues. In the upcoming state elections, female students should actively participate and use their votes and inspire others.

On this occasion, TV9 Bharatvarsh journalist Akshay Shukla interviewed female students and teachers about the elections. He also interacted with the female students and inspired them. The programme was conducted by Amarjeet Kumar Mishra and the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Anamika. On this occasion, Dr. Awadhesh Prasad, Dr. Rashmi Gupta, Dr. Kanchan, Dr. Asha Singh, Raghvendra Narayan, Anju Kumari, Purushottam and a large number of girl students were present.
