INDEPENDENCE DAY: A FESTIVAL OF FREEDOM, UNTIY AND RESPONSIBILITY
Every year 15th August is a day of pride and honour for us Indians. This is the day when India achieved independence in 1947 by breaking the shackles of slavery of hundreds of years. ARA--------------------------Every year 15th August is a day of pride and honour for us Indians. This is the day when India achieved independence in 1947 by breaking the shackles of slavery of hundreds of years. This day remembers the sacrifices of our patriots, freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their lives to give us the right to breathe in free air.
Independence Day is not just a government holiday, but it also reminds us of our duties. Freedom does not only mean getting rights but also contributing to the progress of our country. It is also the responsibility of the citizens of independent India to deal with challenges like corruption, casteism, poverty and illiteracy.
On this day, the national flag is hoisted across the country, the national anthem is sung, and cultural programs are organized in the glory of the tricolor. This festival gives us the message of unity—that no matter which language, religion or region we belong to, we are Indians first.
Today we should take a pledge that we will protect the unity, integrity and honour of our country and contribute in giving it the highest position in the world.
