The district administration is looking fully alert in this direction and all precautionary safety measures have been started before the flood.
On the instructions of District Magistrate Bhojpur Shri Tanay Sultania, work has been started to strengthen the safety dam in view of the horror of floods in Rajapur and Bindgama areas. The administration is trying to protect life and property in any emergency situation.
According to the information, the District Magistrate had received information that the strength of the dam may be adversely affected due to road construction and mining activities going on around the safety dam. As soon as the information was received, the district administration showed promptness and took immediate action. The Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and the mining department team visited the spot and inspected the situation and safety works were started in the affected areas with immediate effect.
It has been made clear by the administration that under no circumstances will the strength of the safety dam be compromised. The District Magistrate has directed that if the safety dam is threatened by illegal mining or other activity at any place, strict action will be taken against it.
The district administration is constantly vigilant in the affected areas. Technical teams have also been kept in active mode by the administration so that immediate action can be taken in case of any kind of disaster.
District Magistrate Tanay Sultania has appealed to the regional people to avoid rumors and follow the instructions of the administration. For any emergency or complaint, contact the district control room and helpline number immediately. The administration has strengthened the monitoring system up to all panchayats and ward levels.
Joint teams of Mining Department, Irrigation Department, Disaster Management and local administration are continuously inspecting the site. Daily reports are being sent to the DM. The District Magistrate has instructed that any weak part of the dam should be immediately identified and the repair work should be completed expeditiously.
