Karan Singh, an active member of Sheru Singh Gang, a famous criminal of the city, has started spreading terror again as soon as he was released on bail. The new case is of demanding extortion money and attacking Pawan Kumar Dubey, a resident of Charitravan, and his brother.

On Friday evening around 5 o'clock, Pawan Kumar Dubey was getting work done on his under-construction house near ITI ground with his brother. Just then, some youths riding a black Scorpio and 7-8 motorcycles arrived there. As soon as they arrived, they threatened, "Give two lakh rupees, only then the house will be built." When the brothers protested, the goons started hitting them with sticks and rods. Pawan's hand was badly bruised and both the brothers were covered in blood. Meanwhile, one of the attackers, while leaving, threatened by introducing himself as Karan Singh, "If you do not pay the ransom, you will have to lose your life." The attackers fled on motorcycles leaving their Scorpio on the spot. The injured were taken to Sadar Hospital with the help of local people. On the complaint of the victim, the city police station has registered a case against Karan Singh, Sonu Rai, a resident of Charitravan, and 20 unknown people and started investigation. It is worth mentioning that two months ago, Karan Singh had demanded a ransom of one crore rupees from a businessman near Machharhatta Put. He had gone to jail in this case, but after coming out on bail, his attitude has again gone back to the old track. According to police sources, he is a close associate of Bihar's notorious criminal Omkarnath Singh alias Sheru Singh and a resident of Dullhapur village.
