WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO QUEUE FOR EDUCATIONAL CERTIFICATE WHEN ALL OTHER WORK IS BEING DONE ONLINE
Today in Bihar, from caste certificate to ration card, from viewing land map to paying electricity bill - almost every government service is now online. Even a common man in the village can get caste, income and residential certificates made on his mobile phone. But the surprising thing is that when it comes to correction in matriculation, intermediate or other educational certificates, even today people have to visit the board office and college.

ARA-------------------------Today in Bihar, from caste certificate to ration card, from viewing land map to paying electricity bill - almost every government service is now online. Even a common man in the village can get caste, income and residential certificates made on his mobile phone. But the surprising thing is that when it comes to correction in matriculation, intermediate or other educational certificates, even today people have to visit the board office and college.
Students and parents have to stand in line outside the board office early in the morning for certificate correction. Many times people travel hundreds of kilometers for a small name correction or date of birth update, a whole day's hard work, expenses and several days of leave are spent separately.
In this process. Recommendation / verification letter from school or college. Photocopy of the required document. Application in the board office. Many times the risk of file getting lost or stuck is involved. Why is this process not online? The reason is clear—the old system of Bihar Board and universities. Even now most of the documents are matched manually. There is no digital link for data sharing between school/college and board. There is lack of integrated online portal for the correction process. If it is made online then the benefits.
1. Apply from home—Students can apply by uploading scanned documents.
2. Digital verification—School/college principal can give approval online.
3. Saving of time and money—No hassle of travel, middlemen and holidays.
4. Transparency—Facility to track the status of application, which will reduce corruption.
5. Fast process—Work can be completed within the stipulated time limit (like RTPS). What can be done?
Bihar Board and Universities should start “Certificate Correction Online Portal”. Aadhaar based e-KYC and digital signature should be used. Digital data link should be made between school/college and board. Fixed time limit should be fixed like RTPS so that application does not get delayed.
When other government services of Bihar have become digital, then keeping educational certificate correction on the old track is neither appropriate nor practical. This wastes common people’s time, money and energy. Bihar government and education department should immediately make this process completely online and provide relief to students and parents.
Today we went to Adarsh Examination Center Patna for some work and saw that the situation here is very terrible, people are very upset.
