The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has achieved a major success against drug trafficking on trains passing through the local Bhabua Road railway station. On Wednesday (February 18, 2026), the RPF escort team, acting with vigilance, recovered approximately 10.4 kg of marijuana from train number 12801 (Up). The estimated value of the recovered marijuana is ₹525,000. An FIR has been registered in this matter at the Government Railway Police (GRP), Bhabua Road.

According to information, Head Constable Muhammad Sultan Alam and Constable Vishwajeet Kumar were on route protection (escort) duty on train number 12801 (Up) on Wednesday. As the train moved past Bhabua Road railway station, the security personnel noticed an unattended brown bag near the gate of coach B5. For security reasons, the personnel questioned nearby passengers, but no one claimed the bag.

Aroused by suspicion, the personnel immediately informed the Security Control Room (DDU). Since the incident occurred at Bhabua Road railway station, the control room directed that legal action be taken at Bhabua Road station. Upon arrival at DDU station, security personnel seized the unattended bag and brought it back to Bhabua Road railway station via train number 12308 (down) for legal action.

The Circle Officer (Mohania), Mr. Dilip Kumar, was summoned to Bhabua Road station as a magistrate. In his presence, the bag was searched, with accompanying force members—Head Constable Muhammad Sultan Alam, Constable Vishwajeet Kumar, and Constable Rahul Kumar—as witnesses. Upon opening the bag, five bundles of marijuana wrapped in brown cellophane tape were found. Weighed, the marijuana weighed approximately 10.4 kilograms, with an estimated market value of 5,25,000 rupees (five lakh twenty-five thousand rupees).

Following the Honorable Court's guidelines and legal procedures, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ghanshyam Vijay Tiwari duly prepared a seizure list at 8:30 pm and seized the marijuana. After completing the paperwork, the seized marijuana was handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP), Bhabua Road, along with a written complaint. Based on the complaint, GRP Bhabua Road registered a case number 06/26 and initiated further investigation to trace the smugglers.
