ARA--------------------------At the Paramanpur Chaturmasya Vrat Sthal, India's great sage, Saint Shri Lakshmiprapanna Jiyar Swami Ji Maharaj said that those who are certain to die should recite the praise of Gajendra Moksha. It was certain that Raja Parikshit would die within 7 days. Raja Parikshit asks Shukdev Ji that Maharshi, what should a person do who is certain to die and has not made preparations.
Shukdev Ji says that a person should remember the name of God while dying. When it is certain that some people will die, then they stop recognizing people. At that time, the people of the house start introducing their relatives. See who has come, recognize that this is your so-and-so relative. This spoils the death of that person. Because even at the time of death, you are introducing him to worldly matters. Whereas if that person is made to remember the name of God even at the time of death, then he attains salvation.
That is why Shukdev ji says that the person who is destined to die, should have different pictures of God's forms around him. Like Lord Narsingh, Shri Ram, Shri Krishna, Lord Vaman, Shriman Narayan, Lord Baikunth Nath or all the different forms of Lord Vishnu, the pictures of the God in whom that person has the most faith should be put all around him. Because even at the time of death, if the eyes of that person go towards those pictures of God, and that person gives up his life while looking at them, then also his welfare is possible.
If a person is lying on bed for a long time. Bearing a lot of pain, trouble, suffering. Due to different types of diseases, their daily routine has become difficult for some people, they are admitted in the hospital due to the disease. It doesn't matter of any age. If it is certain that he will die, then for his auspicious death, one should recite the hymn of Gajendra Moksha. It is mentioned in the scriptures that when Bhishmacharya was lying on the bed of arrows, his end had come. At that time, Bhishmacharya was recited a hymn by Lord Shri Krishna. By reciting that hymn, one can bring good fortune to that person at the time of death.
While dying, whatever a person remembers while dying, in the same way he has to take birth in the next life. He has to suffer the consequences of different deeds. That is why whenever a person has prepared to leave this world, one should not talk to him about worldly matters.
Once there was a gold merchant. Suddenly the price of gold had gone down. He bought a lot of gold, after buying gold, the price suddenly went down further. Now when the rate of gold went down even less than the price at which he had bought it, he became very worried. Due to this worry, his body became weak and he came to the point of dying. At that time his sons were asking him that father you have made preparations to go without telling anyone, you should have told where you have kept what.
At the same time his sons were calling the doctor and getting him treated. It would have been great if father had told where he has kept the treasure, gold etc. After the treatment, when he was able to speak a little, at that time his sons started asking that father you have become 105 years old, where do you keep the gold and property, it would have been great if you had told. The same businessman, the rate of gold was ₹100. The rate had gone down by ₹20, then he had bought gold. He heard that the rate of gold has gone up to ₹105, now while dying he died remembering the rate of gold 105. Due to which he had to suffer this in the next birth also.
That is why whoever is in a state of dying, try to show and tell them only the name, qualities, leela, form of God. The same Shukdev Ji tells Raja Parikshit that death is certain for every living being born in this world. That is why Raja Parikshit should sacrifice his life by abandoning the illusion of the world and meditating on the only Supreme Brahma God.
Those whose death is certain or whoever will die, if not today then tomorrow, if not tomorrow then the day after, sometime or the other. They have been told that they should control the five action senses and the five knowledge senses. The five action senses like hands, feet, mouth, excretory tract, urinary tract should be controlled. At the same time, the five knowledge senses like eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin have also been told to be controlled. The master of these 10 senses is the mind. That is why the mind has been called the king of senses.
The mind is the reason for our death and salvation. The mind is the reason for our respect and insult. The mind is the cause of our sacrifice and dedication. The mind is the biggest medium to connect the soul with the God. Whatever is done by a person in this world, the mind plays the biggest role in it. Because the mind is not in our control. Due to which a person either immortalizes his name while living in this world or is unable to organize his personality while living in this world. A dying person has been told to control his senses. Diet, behavior, company, getting up, sitting etc. should be kept right.
