RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

ARA---------------------------In the month of Saavan, the wind of Shiva Bhakti is blowing everywhere. People are immersed in Shiva Bhakti. Slogans of Bolbam and Har Har Mahadev are resonating everywhere. In such a situation, the importance of Baba Dineshwarnath Dham situated on the banks of Son river in Koilwar of Bhojpur attracts the devotees towards it.

This temple situated at a distance of just 100 meters from the national highway and railway station is the first choice for Shiva devotees. Being situated on the banks of Son river, the climate here, the clean and gurgling stream of Son river, sand spread far and wide and the better arrangements provided by the temple management attract the visitors here.

It is believed that about two decades ago, the idols of gods and goddesses were brought from some other place to Goraiya Sthan Ghat for immersion after worship. One of the idols was also of Lord Bholenath.

For immersion, all the idols were taken down from the vehicle and after performing Puja and Aarti, they were immersed in the Son river one by one. When it was the turn of immersion of Baba Bholenath's idol, Baba's idol did not get lifted. Even after hours of tireless efforts, when the idol did not move, the devotees left it there.

The idol made of clay got damaged due to being in the sun and rain for many days. After which, with the help of social workers, local citizens and laborers and sailors who extract sand in the Son river, the temple was built. Where the idols of Lord Bholenath, Mata Parvati as well as Bajrangbali and Ram Darbar were also installed.

In the month of Sawan, a crowd of Shiva devotees gathers here. Devotees take bath in the pure water of the Son river and offer water to Lord Bholenath. At the same time, some devotees fill water in Kanwar from the confluence of Ganga, Son and Saryu located in the north-east corner of the temple and offer it to Baba after traveling a distance of 20 kilometers. If the devotees are to be believed, Baba fulfills all their wishes.

During the wedding season, dozens of couples get married every day at Baba Dineshwarnath temple located at Goraiya Ghat and complete the rituals of living and dying with each other. If the priest of Baba temple Budhan Baba is to be believed, three dozen marriages have taken place here in a day.

If the temple manager is to be believed, all kinds of arrangements have been made for the guests in the temple, so that the devotees coming here do not face any kind of problem. He also told that every couple getting married here is registered.

"This is a very old temple, it is just a victim of neglect. During the wedding season, dozens of marriages take place here every day. Despite this, it is neglected due to lack of publicity, cooperation of local people and lack of attention from the district administration." - Chandan Kumar, resident.
