RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

ARA-------------------------At the Chaturmasya Vrat Sthal, India's great sage Saint Shri Lakshmiprapanna Jiyar Swami Ji Maharaj threw light on the significance of mantra. While answering the questions of King Parikshit on the holy banks of the Ganga during the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, Shukdev Ji says that King Parikshit, the person who is sure to die, should do yoga. There are four types of yoga. Mantra yoga, Laya yoga, Hatha yoga and Raja yoga. The first is Mantra yoga. Mantra is made up of two words, Mantra is made up of the words Man + Tra. The word Ma means mind. The word Tra means to swim, overcome, take out. Now if both the words are explained together, then the one which makes our mind swim by chanting, thinking, meditating, speaking, reading, writing, listening, is called a mantra.

The word mantra has been explained in detail in the scriptures. Veda mantras, Upanishad mantras, Purana mantras, history mantras etc. have been discussed. Some rules apply to chant the mantras of Vedas. At the same time, some method has been told for chanting the Upanishad mantras. But any person can chant the mantras of Puranas and history.

What is called a mantra? The word, sentence in which the different names, leela, qualities, teachings of Lord Shriman Narayan are described, and are pronounced is a mantra. The word or sentence in which the word Namah is attached is also called a mantra. For example, the word Narayan is also a mantra. Before the creation and after the creation, only one Shriman Narayan lives in the middle of the creation.

Different forms of God have been incarnated from Shriman Narayan. Whose names are Shri Ram, Shri Krishna, Narasimha, Vaman etc. For chanting mantras, mantras are told in the scriptures or by the guru to his disciple. But those who do not know their Guru Mantra, even if they chant the name of God, they still get the same result as chanting the Veda Mantra etc.

What is the meaning of the word Namah? Namah is made up of two words. The word Na gives the sense of salutation. The word Ma gives the sense of removal. It means that I salute and bow to the God who removes the ill will, misbehavior, wrong conduct, wrong thoughts, wrong behavior, food from our mind by saluting, bowing to Him.

That is why it is told in the scriptures that the word or sentence in which the word Namah is attached is called a mantra. But today some people are propagating Namah Shivaya mantras in the society. Namah Shivaya mantra is worth chanting. But according to the Shiva Purana, the conversation that has been done by Lord Shiva and Parvati, the advice that has been given. We should also read, meditate, understand it. In which it has been told to the worshipper of Lord Shiva. Chanting Namah Shivaya is fine. But chanting Om Namah Shivaya is the best and the greatest. That is why no one has the right to break any sentence or word.

Whatever has been written earlier in the Vedas, Puranas and history, no one has the right to change it. If you are a learned person, then you can create your own word or sentence. But whatever has already been written by Rishis, Maharishis and Tapasvis. What they have written has been written according to the situation, event and topic of the time. But today some people are trying to change those events and those words. Which is very wrong.

Because you are thinking according to the situation, events or condition of today. But when the Vedas, Puranas and history were composed, different texts have been composed according to what those people saw and felt at that time. That is why there is no need to make any kind of change or interference in it.

Swami ji said that the mantra should be chanted a lakh times according to the number of words it has. When you chant the mantra a lakh times, it becomes one male foot. In this way, in the scriptures, Guru Mantra or Mantra has been told to chant four male feet. Due to which, by chanting different male feet, different types of powers are obtained in a person's life.

If you chant one male foot, then your ancestors are pleased. When you chant the second male foot, then that person attains peace in his life. By chanting the third male foot, the mind, thoughts, intellect become like an ascetic. By chanting the fourth male foot, one attains siddhi. After which, by the grace of God, that person gets power in his words. In this way, Guru Mantras have been told to be chanted.

The rule of chanting mantras has also been told. After taking bath, a person should sit on a seat. Seeing the position of his body, sitting on the earth in Sukhasan or many other types of asanas have been told according to yoga. In the asana on which you can sit for one or two hours, you should sit according to that asana and chant mantras while steadying your mind and heart.

The second is Laya Yoga: First of all, you should understand the meaning of Laya. The word Laya is made from the words La + Ya. The word La means to be absorbed, to be lost in it. The word Ya actually means the place where my body is not there, but our mind, heart, intellect goes there, gets absorbed, gets merged, that is called Laya. Let us understand with an example, like my body is in the story. But my mind, intellect, heart has gone to that Param Brahm Parmatma. It has merged in Him. If you are eating food, but your mind has gone to one of your relatives. Sometimes, some incident happens with a relative. Then those things keep running in the mind. Whenever you sit somewhere, that incident of the relative comes to your mind. Your mind goes there, this is called Laya Yoga. In Laya Yoga, the body of a person is on earth, the house and family belong to the relative, but his mind, intellect, heart always remain connected with God even while eating, drinking, waking up, sitting, this is called Laya Yoga.

Third Hatha Yoga: In common language, Hatha means to make a firm resolve. To make a resolution. Once we have resolved on something, we have to complete it. Generally, we see that there are many Mahatmas who do Hatha Yoga. Like silent meditation, doing meditation while standing, doing meditation by lighting fire, sleeping on a thorn, standing in water, doing penance in hot sun, etc. are seen.

But according to the scriptures, Hatha Yoga means turning your tongue upside down and meditating on the Supreme Brahma God and slowly moving upwards from the nucleus of your body while meditating on God. In Hatha Yoga, it is also told to do Yoga through both the nostrils. Inhaling through one nostril, after which holding the breath for some time, then exhaling through the other nostril. While doing this action, it is also told to meditate on the Supreme Brahma God. This is how Hatha Yoga should be done.

In Hatha Yoga, the practitioner should meditate on the form, name, form, leela of God below his navel and slowly come upwards while meditating on those forms. After which, one should concentrate on the name, form and leela of God in his heart. This is how Hatha Yoga is done. Hatha Yoga has been explained in the scriptures.

The fourth is Raja Yoga: Raja Yoga means such a Yoga in which many paths are visible to walk. Even if one route is obstructed, we can travel through the other route. For example, if one of the 10-lane roads is blocked, we can continue our journey through the other lane. This is called Raj Yoga. For example, living life with resources and worshipping, discussing, reciting the name, qualities and leela of God and carrying out one's daily routine is called Raj Yoga. This is the best yoga for ordinary humans.
