ARA-----------------------At the Paramanpur Chaturmasya fasting site, India's great sage, Shri Lakshmiprapanna Jiyar Swami Ji Maharaj, said that cow slaughter must be stopped. Society owes a huge debt to the cow, which needs to be repaid. We are born from a mother and grow up by drinking her milk. And when a child needs more milk in childhood, we drink the same cow's milk to grow up.

That is why the cow is like a mother to us. The respect we deserve for a mother is even greater than for a cow. Because the cow nourishes us with its milk, without any relation to it. It is the duty of all living beings to protect that cow. The way cow slaughter is happening today is deeply hurting society.

When a cow gives milk, we use it. But when a cow stops giving milk, it is sold to the wrong people for the sake of a few rupees. We all need to consider this. Even from a scientific perspective, cows, bulls, buffaloes, and goats are highly valued.

Cow milk is considered the best medicine for a person. Simply being around them cures existing illnesses. Cow urine is used for various medicinal purposes. If someone has asthma, being around a cow can alleviate the illness through the smell of its dung and urine. Protecting such cows is crucial. When someone becomes extremely weak due to illness, they are fed goat milk.

Because its milk is considered very powerful, bringing well-being to humans. Just being around a bull or caressing its body can alleviate many bodily problems. Similarly, buffalo milk also provides strength to a person. According to scriptures, every hair on a cow's body is inhabited by a deity. Therefore, it is said that 330 million deities reside within it. Even according to such scriptures, killing a cow is considered a sin.

According to the Srimad Bhagavata story, Surya's son was Ikshvaku. In Ikshvaku's lineage was a great ascetic named Saubari Rishi. He married Mandhata's fifty daughters, and they had many sons, the eldest of whom was Purukutsa. Purukutsa's descendants included a king named Satyavrata, who later became known as Trishanku. Once, King Satyavrata told Sage Vasishta that he wished to perform a yajna (sacrifice) that would take his body to heaven. Vashishta replied that no such yajna existed. Satyavrata then asked Sage Vasishta's sons to perform the yajna, but they too refused. Sage Vasishta's sons then advised him to speak to his father about the matter. King Satyavrata replied that he had refused. Hearing this, Sage Vashishtha's sons cursed King Satyavrat, saying, "I will be ruined by my actions."

Despite all this, King Satyavrat remained unconvinced and went to Sage Vishwamitra. He told him, "I want to perform a yajna that will take me to heaven with my body." Sage Vishwamitra replied, "I will certainly perform this yajna." Sage Vishwamitra then began the yajna and performed the final oblations with great fervor. As a result of his austerity and meditation, Sage Vishwamitra sent King Satyavrat to heaven with his body. When King Satyavrat reached heaven, the heavenly authority declared that this was against the rules.

King Satyavrat was sent from heaven. King Satyavrat then called out to Sage Vishwamitra and, with his feet up, head down, and arms outstretched, posed like Trishanku. After this, sage Vishwamitra became very angry and said, "I am being insulted." He said, "I will create a separate heaven." All the gods pleaded with folded hands. Sage Vishwamitra agreed. However, Satyavrat had become like King Trishanku, and his name became sage Vishwamitra. He was no longer allowed to come down. He remained where he was. The saliva that fell from his mouth became a river, which we know today as the Karmanasha River.

King Satyavrat Trishanku's son was King Harishchandra, known as the Truthful King. King Harishchandra's wife was Sabya, with whom he had a son named Rohit. King Harishchandra gave away everything he had and became a beggar. King Harishchandra remained childless for many years after his marriage. He consulted the sages and sages, and they finally had a son. But in return, he promised to sacrifice him to Lord Varuna.

Even after King Harishchandra had a son, Rohit, he still didn't perform the sacrifice. One day, Rohit learned of this. He went to Lord Varuna and said, "I will sacrifice another person in his place." One day, while searching, Rohit came to a village where a Brahmin had three sons. The Brahmin didn't sacrifice his elder and younger sons, but sent the middle son for sacrifice. Rohit took the Brahmin's son to Lord Varuna to offer him as a sacrifice.

The rituals were followed, and the Brahmin's son was sent to the river bank to bathe in the evening. There, the Brahmin's son met sage Vishwamitra. After receiving all the information, sage Vishwamitra gave a hymn to the Brahmin's son. The Brahmin's son was then taken to Lord Varuna for sacrifice. He then told sage Vishwamitra that he was He began reciting the verses told by him. Hearing that verse, Lord Varuna was pleased.

He said, "I don't want sacrifices; I am pleased with this verse." After this, the Brahmin's sons were also saved. Lord Varuna, who was angry with King Harishchandra for not offering the sacrifice, forgave him as well, and Rohit was also saved.

Rohit's lineage was followed by King Sagar. King Sagar had 60,000 sons from one wife and one son from the second wife, whose name was Asamanjas. The same King Sagar who once performed the Ashwamedha Yagya. He stole the horse of the Ashwamedha Yagya and tied it in the ashram of Nekpil Muni. After which, King Sagar's sons went searching for it and went to Kapil Muni's ashram. After which, all of King Sagar's sons were reduced to ashes by Kapil Muni's mere glance. Asamanjas' son was Anshuman.

The same Anshuman went to the ashram of Lord Kapil Muni while searching for Sagar's 60000 sons. There Lord Kapil Muni told that Ganga will have to be brought from heaven to meet the ocean. Only then will the sons of King Sagar be blessed. Anshuman did penance for many years, but his penance was not successful. Anshuman's son was Dilip, he also did penance, but nothing happened. Dilip's son was King Bhagirath, who brought Ganga ji from heaven to earth. In this lineage, later Lord Shri Ram was born as the son of King Dasharath, who became the king of Ikshvaku dynasty, Suryavanshi dynasty.
