ARA---------------------------On International Literacy Day, Principal of Women's College, Prof Narendra Pratap Palit said that there is a need to increase the literacy rate in the state.
On Monday, a program was organized by Unit 1 and 2 of National Service Scheme on International Literacy Day at Mahant Mahadevanand Women's College. On this occasion, the program was conducted successfully under the supervision of Program Officer of Unit 1, Dr. Smriti Chaudhary and Program Officer of Unit 2, Dr. Sudha Niketan Ranjani. The stage was conducted by Khushi and Alpana.
First of all, all the dignitaries seated on the stage started the program by lighting the lamp. Komal Kumari presented the Deep Prajavalan song. Students of Hindi department, Juhi, Jagriti, Anjali, Nidhi, Prachi Priya presented the college song and welcome song. Thereafter, the Principal and guests of the college were welcomed by presenting a book and a plant. Principal Prof Narendra Pratap Palit, who was presiding over the program, in his welcome speech, highlighted the importance of International Literacy Day. He said that the literacy rate is low at the state and national level, it is very important to increase the rate of education at the state and national level. That is, there is a need for further improvement in education. Education is the basis of the best progress. Bihar has the lowest literacy rate, 71.20% in men and 51.50% in women. To increase the rate, education will have to be promoted more. Only then will the vision of a developed society, developed state and developing nation be fulfilled.
Dr Smriti Chaudhary said that literacy is not a flower that is plucked and decorated for oneself, but it is a seed that works to spread education. He presented his point by presenting examples of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar and others. After this, Mohammad Ali Mul Haq said that knowledge of technology for education is necessary for today. He explained in detail about Digital Literacy Vision 2050. He advised everyone to be alert about how AI tools work, cyber security, cyber bullying, online crime etc.
Juhi Kumari, a student of Hindi department, presented a melodious song on the importance of literacy in Bhojpuri language. After this, Dinkar Sharma successfully staged a solo play based on Premchand's story 'Bade Bhai Saheb' which was highly appreciated.
At the end of the program, Dr. Sudha Niketan Ranjani, Head of NSS Unit-2 and Hindi Department, thanked the Principal of the college, guests, all teachers, non-teaching staff, students and media persons.
