In the times to come, teachers will not only become knowledge givers, but will become life-seer, guide and custodian of values. Today the form of education is changing rapidly. Artificial intelligence, digital technology and new teaching methods have completely influenced the learning process. In the times to come, teachers will not only become knowledge givers, but will become life-seer, guide and custodian of values. Competition will not be limited to marks and titles, but the importance of skills, empathy and right life attitude will increase even more. In such a situation, on Teacher's Day, it is necessary that we understand the changing role of the teacher and give them the place they truly deserve.

The traditional role of a teacher is not limited to only studying and teaching books. Today, teachers are the creators of the complete personality of students. Just as technology has given a new direction to education, the responsibilities of a teacher have also changed. Now it is not enough to make students successful in studies only, but it is also necessary to teach them to face the challenges of life, adopt qualities like tolerance and empathy and to differentiate between right and wrong.

In the present times, education is not limited to the four walls of the classroom. Internet and digital platforms have put a vast storehouse of information in the hands of children. Children today can get answers on any subject in seconds. But the question is whether this much information is enough? How to use knowledge in life, how to use it judiciously - only a teacher can teach this. This is the reason that despite technological advancement, the need for a teacher has become more relevant than ever.

Mechanical intelligence is providing information to children quickly, virtual classrooms and online platforms are making learning easier, and robotics and automation are replacing traditional jobs in the coming times. In such a situation, the question arises whether the role of the teacher will be weakened? The answer is clear—never. Machines can only provide information, but only teachers can provide wisdom, values, emotions, inspiration and empathy.

In the coming eight-ten years, the biggest competition in education will not be from books, but from artificial intelligence and robots. Only those teachers will succeed who will keep themselves updated and understand the needs of the students. A teacher who only teaches will be left behind. Only a teacher who teaches how to live life will make a place in the hearts of students.

The biggest crisis of education today is that students acquire degrees, but they do not have the skills necessary for life. Qualities like the ability to get employment, communication skills, problem-solving ability and empathy are based more on skills than education. Therefore, it is necessary that both education and skills are given equal importance. The teacher has to make this balance so that the students can become not only “good students” but also “good human beings”.

In a country like India where the population is huge and diversity is immense, education is not only a means of acquiring knowledge but also a medium of social unity and cultural consciousness. The work of a teacher cannot be limited to the textbook only. He is the anchor that connects children to their traditions, culture and values. If the teacher discharges his duty properly, then the possibility of moral degradation in the society will be minimal.

In the technological age, it is most important that the teacher remains sensitive towards the children. Books can give knowledge, artificial intelligence can give information, but only a teacher can teach the values of life. Sympathy, patience and compassion are the real power of a teacher. This power can be developed only by the teacher who does not consider his students only as students but as his own children.

In the future, only those teachers will be successful who can adapt themselves with time. Who can understand the mental, social and emotional needs of the students. Who do not consider education only as a means to get employment, but make it a guide for living life. In the changing times when unity in families is decreasing and children are getting less guidance from elders, then teachers are the basis from which children learn the art of living.

In today's time, the objective of education should not be limited to marks only. Education means giving the power to think, developing the ability to take right decisions and generating courage to fight difficult situations of life. Teacher is the only power that can teach all this to the student. If education is limited only to passing the examination, then it will remain incomplete. The true objective of education is to make a person sensitive, prudent and courageous.

Teachers are the strongest link of change in the society. If teachers give the right direction, then the society will automatically move on the right path. The future of any nation is determined in its classrooms. This is the reason why on Teachers' Day we all should accept that teachers are not only teachers but also teachers. Teachers are not a part of the system, but the creators of the society.

History is witness that whenever darkness engulfed the society, it was the teacher who showed the way by becoming a lamp. From the Gurukul tradition to the modern university, the Guru-Shishya relationship has given strength to the Indian culture. Today there is a need to revive the sanctity of this relationship.

Teacher's Day reminds us that no matter how far we go in our lives, we can never forget the role of the teacher. Technology, artificial intelligence and robotics can make education fast and simple, but only teachers can teach how to live life. In the coming years, only those teachers will shape the future of the students who will develop both education and skills in a balanced manner and will give them the right vision of life while being sympathetic towards the children.

Thus, teachers are not limited to books only, but are the true guides and visionaries of life for the coming generations. They will give the society the direction which will not only strengthen the education system, but will also make the future of the nation bright.
