The divine form of the Swastika in the fire: The most awe-inspiring and prominent element of this Raas is the formation of the sacred shape of the 'Swastika' from the rows of burning embers. One participant explained that the players move in such a way within the circle of embers that when viewed from above, the entire 'Swastika' symbol on the ground is clearly visible. In Hinduism, the 'Swastika' is considered a symbol of ultimate well-being, auspiciousness, and good fortune. Through this dance form, the performers not only deliver an extraordinary performance but also, by enacting this sacred symbol amidst the fire, invoke the Goddess and pray for the well-being of the region. A moment of devotion and joy for the spectators, devotees and spectators from far and wide flock to Jamnagar to witness this fearless and spectacular performance.
