ARA-----------------------In today's stressful era, every man is falling prey to various diseases. The diseases that used to occur at an older age, now have no age limit. High blood pressure and sugar disease can now happen to anyone at any age. Health experts and doctors believe that high BP disease at a young age can also ruin sex life. Therefore, people suffering from this disease should be careful. Remember, high BP is a problem that affects the body and it also includes intimate relationships. In this way, the relationship between high blood pressure and sexual health is often overlooked, yet it can significantly affect intimate relationships.

Dr. Suri Raju V, a well-known urologist of the country, explains, high blood pressure can have a profound effect on sexual performance and desire in both men and women. He said that high blood pressure in men can cause erectile dysfunction (ED). High blood pressure damages the endothelium, or the inner lining of blood vessels, reducing their ability to dilate properly. This results in restricted blood flow to the penis, making it difficult to get or maintain an erection. High BP can also reduce blood flow to the vaginal area, which can lead to decreased sexual arousal, vaginal dryness, and difficulty achieving orgasm. Research from Current Hypertension Reports indicates that 68% of men with high blood pressure experience some degree of erectile dysfunction, and women with high blood pressure are 40% more likely to have sexual arousal disorders.

Dr. Raju recommends regular physical exercise, saying that even moderate exercise, such as brisk walking for 30 minutes a day, significantly improves sexual performance and satisfaction in people with high blood pressure. He advises that blood pressure medications such as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or calcium channel blockers are less likely to cause sexual side effects than older antihypertensive medications.
