PATNA---------------------------Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has given strict instructions to officials to make Patna a model revenue district and ensure the speedy resolution of pending land cases.

The Revenue and Land Reforms Department has taken the important decision to make Patna district a model revenue district. In this regard, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms, Vijay Kumar Sinha, held a review meeting of the district in the auditorium of the Patna Collectorate. Principal Secretary of the department, CK Anil, Secretary Jai Singh, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.

In the review meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister said that 94 percent of the farmers in the state are small and marginal farmers, and approximately 76 percent of the population depends on agriculture. In such a situation, the speedy resolution of land-related matters is extremely necessary for public welfare and good governance. He informed that approximately 68 percent of cases of land disputes and other land-related crimes are related to land disputes. Thus, it is clear that improving the functioning of the Land Reforms Department is the need of the hour.

The Deputy Chief Minister said in the meeting that due to departmental shortcomings in some areas, people are facing difficulties, and the number of pending cases with officials is increasing, preventing them from getting justice. He emphasized that now it will be mandatory to complete every task within the stipulated time frame, and no kind of negligence will be tolerated.

In particular, he expressed strong displeasure over the excessive pendency of cases by the Circle Officers of Didarganj, Sampatchak, Bihta, and Danapur, and instructed them to provide immediate explanations. It was clarified in the meeting that the Sub-Divisional Officers of Land Reforms will have to conduct regular monitoring in their respective blocks, conduct inspections at the panchayat level, and ensure the speedy disposal of pending cases.

The Deputy Chief Minister instructed the officials that strict action will be taken against employees who delay cases or carry out incorrect mutation of land records based on forged documents. He also said that transparency and accountability are essential in the work of the Land Reforms Department. In this direction, orders were given to ensure the proper disposal of all pending cases by December 31st. During the meeting, it was also discussed that special attention would be given to digitalization, a fast-track system, and regular monitoring to make Patna district a model district. Under this initiative, records of land dispute cases will be maintained digitally, allowing the status of any case to be tracked instantly. Officials at the panchayat level were also instructed to conduct periodic inspections and review the process of resolving disputes.

Vijay Kumar Sinha stated that the state government's priority is to provide immediate relief to farmers and the general public from land disputes and other land-related problems. He emphasized that the Land Reforms Department must now work for the people, and any delay, negligence, or corruption will not be tolerated.

Officials informed the meeting that the number of pending cases had increased in some areas, but they assured that all pending cases would be resolved in a time-bound manner. Considering this a serious issue, the Deputy Chief Minister gave strict instructions to the officials to regularly provide information on pending cases to higher authorities.

Furthermore, it was decided in the meeting that special teams would be formed in Patna district to resolve land disputes. These teams will periodically review cases and take immediate action as needed. This step will ensure transparency and speedy resolution of land disputes.

This initiative of the state government is in the interest of small and marginal farmers. Vijay Kumar Sinha said that farmers and the general public face prolonged problems due to land disputes, which will now be resolved with complete transparency and accountability. He warned officials that if any employee is found to be delaying cases through fraudulent documents or incorrect procedures, strict action will be taken against them.

It was also decided in the review meeting that the land reforms process in Patna district would be made more effective through modernization and digitalization. The objective is to ensure that no one has to wait a long time for the resolution of land disputes and that all work is completed on time.

After this meeting, it is clear that the state government is fully committed to making Patna district a model revenue district. The steps taken to ensure transparency, speedy resolution, and accountability in the Land Reforms Department are welcome news for farmers and the general public.
