ARA-------------------------In the monsoon session of Lok Sabha today, Ara MP Sudama Prasad raised the issue of New Education Policy 2020. In which he said that the New Education Policy 2020 has caused serious damage to the publicly funded education system in India. The marginalized sections of the society have been deprived of education due to the government closing public universities and schools and promoting the education system based on private investment and corporate model.
He said that under the Modi regime, about 90,000 government schools have been closed across the country. These schools were closed by showing less number of children, sometimes citing shortage of teachers, and sometimes making excuses of lack of financial resources.
He said that this step is clearly aimed at keeping the children of hardworking sections like landless, poor farmers, rickshaw, tonga, handcart pullers, pavement shopkeepers and construction workers away from education. This is part of a well-planned conspiracy. The government's intention seems to be to deprive these children of education so that they can be used as tools in religious activities, like the boys who dance in Kamariya.
By breaking the structure of education in an organized manner, an environment of superstition, communalism and social division is being created in the entire country. Closing schools is a part of this plan.
He said that we strongly oppose this and demand that all the closed government schools be reopened immediately. Also, a large number of new government schools should be opened across the country so that education reaches every section and an egalitarian society can be created.
