BHABHUA---------------------------With the arrival of winter, brick kilns located in various areas of Kesath block have once again become vibrant. These days, amid the mild morning sunshine and the balmy evening coolness, workers' hands are brisk. Brick production has once again begun, and the kilns are at a rapid pace. With the harvest now harvested, rural laborers have turned to brick kilns for livelihood. Work is in full swing at dozens of small and large kilns in Kulmanpur, Baijnathpur, Rampur, and surrounding areas. As soon as morning dawns, teams of workers begin kneading clay, filling molds, and drying raw bricks in the sun.

Women and men alike are setting an example of hard work. Children are also seen helping with menial tasks.

Brick kiln operators reported that this year, due to the timely change in weather, brick production has resumed smoothly. Last year, rain and a lack of clay posed significant challenges, but this time, they hope, things will be better. He stated that local laborers are being prioritized to provide employment to the villagers. Workers say that brick kilns serve as their primary source of livelihood during the winter months. They explained that after a hard day's work, seeing rows of bricks being prepared in the kiln brings peace of mind. However, rising inflation and a modest increase in wage rates remain a concern. These kilns play a vital role in the rural economy. After agricultural work ends, these kilns become the livelihoods of hundreds of families. This tradition of forging gold from clay after a hard day's work has been prevalent in the villages of Kesath for years. The red flames of the brick kilns and the sweat of the hard-working laborers have once again brought the village back to life. This warmth of hard work, amidst the cool breeze and smoke, tells a vibrant story etched in the soil of Kesath.
