PATNA-------------------------Amidst the Bihar Assembly elections, Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav made a historic announcement for the state's contract workers and Jeevika Didi. He said that the current double-engine government is incompetent and corrupt, having physically, mentally, and financially exploited these employees and women for years.
Tejashwi Yadav announced that if the Grand Alliance government is formed, the "Mai-Behin Maan Yojana" will be implemented, under which women will receive financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month, ₹30,000 annually, and ₹1.5 lakh over five years.
He said that the current government has given bribes in the form of loans of ₹10,000 only for electoral gain, while this loan is an attempt to mislead the public in the name of seed funding.
• Jeevika Community Mobilizers (CMs) will be granted permanent government employee status and receive a monthly salary of ₹30,000.
• Interest on loans taken by Jeevika groups will be waived.
• Jeevika Didis will be provided interest-free loans for two years.
• Didis who assist in government work will receive a ₹2,000 monthly allowance.
• Jeevika cadre will be insured for up to ₹5 lakh.
• CLF, VO, and group president/treasurer will also receive honorarium.
Tejashwi Yadav stated that through the "Beti Yojana" and "Maa Yojana" schemes currently underway in the state, complete care will be taken of daughters from birth to their education and employment.
He clearly stated that all contract workers employed in Bihar through outsourcing and agencies like Beltron will be made permanent. Tejashwi accused the government of making contractual appointments for the sake of commission, which has left the future of the youth insecure.
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav, National Spokesperson Prof. Naval Kishore Yadav, former MLA Dr. Anwar Alam, State Spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed, Sarika Paswan, Madhu Manjari, and State General Secretary Mukund Singh were present at the press conference.
