ARA---------------------------At Paramanpur Chaturmasya Vrat Sthal, India's great sage Saint Shri Lakshmiprapanna Jiyar Swami Ji Maharaj said that Grihastha Ashram is the best among all the ashrams. The person who lives his life according to the limits of scriptures by living in Grihastha Ashram, attains salvation. It is told in the scriptures that the woman who follows the duty of a woman, the sanyasi who follows the religion of sanyaas, the householder who lives in accordance with the limits of household by living in Grihastha Ashram, attain the supreme world of God.
Grihastha Ashram is called Grihastha Ashram, the one who accepts his marital limits and lives with his wife and children and follows the religion of Grihastha Ashram, he is a Grihastha. The people living in Grihastha Ashram do farming, business, study, teaching. Due to which the welfare of many creatures living in nature is achieved. When a householder who does farming sows seeds in the fields to grow crops, many living creatures eat that seed grain.
From sowing the seeds to growing, many types of living creatures in nature get their food. Such creatures who carry forward their life from the food grown by the householder. Actually, the food of many creatures is arranged by the householder. After which, when the crop is ready in the field, it is brought home. After which, the food of the society is arranged through that grown crop, whether it is paddy, wheat, rice or anything else.
Such a householder ashram is said to be the best. Because if there was no householder ashram, then the arrangement of food, drink and many types of things for the human being would not have been possible. Today, wherever there is a yagya etc., a feast is organized in it. In which rice, flour, pulses and many types of materials are used. All these food and materials are grown by the householders.
Sanyasis and Brahmacharis also get their food through the fruits, flowers and other things grown by these householders. If there were no householders, there would be no arrangement for food in the society. That is why it is told to live a dignified life by living in the Grihastha Ashram according to the scriptures.
Dharma of a woman: In which it is told that a woman has many dharmas. But mainly four dharmas are important. The best dharma of a woman is that she should have a sense of service towards her husband and should give her husband god-like respect.
Women respect and serve saints and great men. But if she does not respect and serve her husband, then everything is useless. She should support her husband all the time, be happy with him and give respect and honor to her husband as well as his family. A woman should be pativrata. She should be devoted to her husband. A woman should not joke or have any kind of relationship with any other man other than her husband. When such a woman sacrifices her body while living on earth, she attains heaven.
Dharma of Brahmachari: After telling the dharma of a woman, Prahlad ji tells his subjects the dharma of a Brahmachari, how a Brahmachari should live. What dharma should be followed. There are many types of Brahmacharis, like the first one who spends his life with the wife he is married to, the second one is a Brahmachari who lives with his wife and produces children and also remains engaged in religious worship.
The person who follows the celibacy dharma from childhood till death is also a Brahmachari. He does not marry. He spends his life in worshiping, meditating, adoring and remembering God. All the good deeds in the world, bringing all those deeds and behavior into one's life is also called Brahmachari. Serving God, serving the devotees of God and also serving saints and Mahatmas is the dharma of a Brahmachari. The life of a Brahmachari should be virtuous. Diet and behaviour should be correct. Scriptures should be studied. Conduct should be correct. One should be devoted to the Sun, Fire, Guru and Gods.
A Brahmachari should perform five yagnas daily. For example, before having food every day, first of all, keep food for cow, crow, saint, dog, ant, fish. Only then should one eat. To repay the three debts, a Brahmachari should also fulfill the debt of mother, father and sage. Prahlad ji further says that a Brahmachari should not sit alone and joke with any woman, whether she is mother, sister, daughter or anyone, for a long time. This can lead to any kind of error or deviation in the Brahmacharya Dharma.
Dharma of Vanaprastha: Prahlad ji further explained the Dharma of Vanaprastha. In which he told that after marriage and after having a child, one should remain engaged in worship, recitation, yagya and Dharma. One should live on roots and tubers. Do not eat non-vegetarian food.
Dharma of a Sanyasi: Prahlad Ji further told his subjects the dharma of a Sanyasi. A Sanyasi should sacrifice his desires and do Puja, Paath, Dharma, Yagya, Sadhna. He should not be greedy for money. He who lives his life by devoting himself to the devotion of God and merging his soul with the Almighty is a Sanyasi. Do Yagya, Dharma, Puja, Tapa, Ganga Snan or any other religious work for the world and the humans and creatures of the world. Teach the right conduct for the welfare of the people of the society.
A Sanyasi should not stay in one place for many days. But one should not stay there. If there are big cities, one should stay there for 7 days, 5 days or 3 days. Also, Chaturmas Yagya should be conducted once a year. A Sanyasi should wear Tilak and Kamandalu. One should spend his life in worship and devotion of God. One should spend his life by begging alms in seven or five houses.
Dharma of a householder: Prahlad Ji also told about the religion of a householder. In which he told that the householder ashram is the best. In the householder ashram, one has to live in the worship and meditation of God while living with wife and child, looking after all the household works. Living with wife and child, doing farming and business, respecting ancestors, gods, sages and saints, organizing feasts for living beings from time to time is the religion of the householder ashram. One should live by leaving the Tamasi and royal lifestyle.
The person who does not eat meat, does not eat Tamasi food, gets the fruits after performing all the pilgrimages and yagnas. One should never eat non-vegetarian food on the occasion of Shraddha. While living in the Grihastha Ashram, one should wish well for every living being, sage, saint, guest. There are six sutras of Grihastha Ashram. Increase in wealth, good health, wife being beloved, wife being beautiful, wife being obedient, son being obedient.
