GOD ALSO HAS A SHORTCOMING: JIYAR SWAMI

India's great sage saint Shri Lakshmiprapanna Jiyar Swami Ji Maharaj, while preaching at the Chaturmasya Vrat Sthal Paramanpur, said that God also has a shortcoming. Once Narad Ji asked Lord Shriman Narayan, what is the shortcoming in you? Lord Shriman Narayan said that Narad, there is no shortcoming or flaw in me. If there was any shortcoming or flaw in me, I would not be God. Even then Narad Ji did not agree. Narad Ji said, no-no Lord, there must be some shortcoming in you too. After asking repeatedly, Lord Shriman Narayan says, Narad Ji, there is a biggest shortcoming in me too, please be kind.

RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

ARA-------------------------India's great sage saint Shri Lakshmiprapanna Jiyar Swami Ji Maharaj, while preaching at the Chaturmasya Vrat Sthal Paramanpur, said that God also has a shortcoming.

We show mercy on our devotees who remember us very soon. If there is any biggest shortcoming in me, then you must be kind. That is why Lord Shriman Narayan is also called kind. God is only for welfare. He does not harm anyone. The rest of the gods and goddesses sometimes get angry.

But God always wishes well for the creatures, nature, living beings. That is why it is said that Mangal Bhavan Amangal Hari, the one who defeats evil and brings good is God. That is Lord Shriman Narayan. Shriman Narayan says, Narad ji, we wish well for our opponents as well. We give salvation to those who oppose us the most. We give salvation to people of demonic nature like Ravana, Kumbhakaran, Kansa, Shishupal.

Shukdev ji is narrating this story to King Parikshit on the holy banks of the Ganga. King Parikshit asks Shukdev ji that Maharaj, in all the stories you have narrated till now, I have understood only one thing that God also takes the side of the gods. Meaning Lord Shriman Narayan is also biased. Shukdev ji says, no Parikshit, it is not like that at all. Raja Parikshit says Maharaj, in all the stories you narrated, you killed the demons, chased away the demons, destroyed the demons, protected the gods, took incarnation for the gods, this is the story we have been listening to from you till now. Even God is not equal-sighted.

Shukadev ji says Raja Parikshit, till now whatever Shrimad Bhagwat Katha we have made you listen to, you have not understood it properly. Lord Shriman Narayan is such, who blesses even the demons. Lord appears from the pillar in the form of Narasimha to protect Prahlad, who was born in the house of Hiranyaksha, Hiranyakashyap. Such a God is not only the well-wisher of the gods but he is also the well-wisher of his devotees. Whether his devotees are gods, demons, creatures, animals, birds or the living beings in all the types of species found in this world, Lord Shriman Narayan has equal vision on all of them.

The true meaning of equal vision or samabhaav samanata should also be understood. Samdarshi means to follow the behavior, conduct and dignity of the person as per his nature. Samdarshi does not mean same behavior, conduct and dignity. If you understand Samdarshi to mean general, same behavior and dignity, then you are wrong. Samdarshi means to follow the behavior, conduct and dignity of the person as per his nature, qualities, position and prestige.

If you understand Samdarshi to mean same sentiment, then it can be wrong. It should be understood with an example. There are many women in the house. The dignity with the wife is different. The dignity with mother, aunt, sister, grandmother is different. If you understand Samdarshi to mean one sentiment, then the dignity system and behavior of the society will become completely chaotic. Mother is treated differently. Wife is treated differently. Aunt, sister are treated differently.

Wife comes from another house, while one's sister, daughter is married in another house. Think if the same kind of conduct is followed with equal vision and general equanimity, then how much the culture of the society will be completely tarnished. Like helicopter is arranged for the Prime Minister. Similarly, if the employees working in a school also start looking for helicopter arrangements to go somewhere, then is it possible?

The Prime Minister is the operator of a country. While an employee looks after the work of a school. Now if common equal vision and equanimity is sought between these two, then the work system will completely fall apart. That is why the system of ensuring conduct, behavior, dignity with a person as he is, is called equal vision and equanimity.

The same Shukdev ji tells Raja Parikshit, Raja Parikshit God is well-wisher of everyone. He is well-wisher of the saints. The same Raja Parikshit says, Maharaj, who is called a saint? What are the characteristics of a saint? The same Shukdev ji says that Raja Parikshit, a saint can be any person. Whether he lives in the Grihast Ashram or Brahmacharya Ashram without getting married, he can also be a Sadhu. But a Sadhu is one who lives a life different from a normal human being. One whose conduct, behaviour, lifestyle, eating, drinking, getting up, sitting are according to the norms of the scriptures, is called a Sadhu. Sadhu means one who controls himself, one who controls his senses is a Sadhu.

A Sadhu is one whose conduct is in the interest of society and culture. One whose conduct, speech, thoughts, constantly remember God is a Sadhu. A Sadhu is one who does not change his form again and again. He is also a Sadhu. He who lives with children and family but whose thoughts, behaviour, conduct, qualities are devoted to the worship of God is a Sadhu. One who wears the disguise of a Sadhu cannot be a Sadhu. One who changes his diet, behaviour, clothes, thoughts, dignity from time to time cannot be a Sadhu. Whether he is married or unmarried.

One who sometimes becomes a Grihastha Ashram, sometimes wears saffron clothes and becomes a Sadhu. One who changes his form according to the situation from time to time is not a Sadhu. A Sadhu is one who maintains patience and dignity even after facing adverse circumstances. No matter what situation he has to face, he faces the problems with his dignity and does not abandon his conduct even in adverse circumstances, he is a Sadhu.
