According to information received from the District Education Officer's office, the basic literacy examination for the first and second phases of the 2024-25 academic year and the first phase of the 2025-26 academic year under the Akshar Anchal Yojana for women belonging to Mahadalit, Dalit, and minority backward classes will be conducted throughout the district on December 7th. This examination will be for all newly literate women in the 15-45 age group and will be completely free of charge.
As per the instructions issued, the objective of the examination is to assess the functional knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics of the newly literate women. The question paper will be divided into three parts: A (Reading), B (Writing), and C (Mathematics). Each part will be of 50 marks, thus the total examination will be of 150 marks. A designated space will be provided below the questions for writing the answers. The examination will be conducted at the cluster level in the clusters where the Akshar Anchal Yojana is operational. Where there are fewer centers, one examination center will be designated by combining 2-3 clusters.
Each education volunteer will have to ensure the presence of 20 newly literate women with Aadhaar cards at their respective centers. Women who were previously unable to take the examination have also been given the opportunity to participate. The responsibility of the examination center will rest with the headmaster of the concerned school, while the education volunteers will assist them. The examination will be held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and each woman will be given a maximum of 3 hours to complete the examination. The center in-charge will sign and write their name on the cover page of the answer sheet and complete the roll number allocation process as per the instructions. No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination center without submitting their answer sheet. Arrangements for water, toilets, and a conducive environment are mandatory. After the examination, the answer sheets will be submitted to the BRC by December 8th.
All records will be made available to the district office by December 12th after evaluation. The result will not be based on a pass-fail system, but will be declared in the form of A, B, and C grades. If a candidate requires grade improvement, they will be allowed to appear in the next examination. The district administration has instructed that strict compliance with the examination conduct and monitoring procedures be ensured.
