ARA--------------------------Looking at the progress of SIR till 6 pm, it is highly likely that the process of collecting enumeration forms will be completed before the last date of 25 July 2025. Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is going on smoothly in Bihar and so far 3,70,77,077 enumeration forms, i.e. 46.95% of the total 7,89,69,844 (about 7.90 crore) voters have been collected (till 6 pm) — this progress has been made within 14 days of the issuance of SIR order.

In the last two weeks, 7.90 crore forms were printed and more than 97% of them (7,70,44,990 forms) have been distributed to the voters. Apart from this, 18.16% of the forms have been uploaded on ECINET. A large number of prospective voters are also submitting their eligibility documents along with the enumeration forms, as mentioned in the SIR order dated 24.06.2025.

The target now is to collect the remaining half of the enumeration forms and eligibility documents, for which 17 days are still left. In the last 24 hours (i.e. from 6 pm yesterday to 6 pm today), 82,78,617 enumeration forms have been collected, which shows a progress of 10.5% in a single day. If this pace is maintained, the task can be completed before the scheduled deadline.

The addition of 20,603 new BLOs in the field has further accelerated the process. Already a total of 77,895 BLOs are going door-to-door to help voters, get the forms filled and collect them. The first of the three scheduled visits by the BLOs has been completed and the second visit is in progress.

Nearly 4 lakh volunteers — including government employees, NCC cadets, NSS members, etc — are working to assist the elderly, disabled, sick and vulnerable sections of the society in the SIR process.

In addition, EROs of all 243 assembly constituencies, 963 AEROs, 38 District Election Officers and Chief Electoral Officers of the state are also helping voters in submitting the forms.

District presidents of all recognised political parties have expedited the appointments of BLAs and are actively working at the ground level. So far, 1,56,626 BLAs have been appointed, up from 1,38,680 when the campaign began. According to Section 25.2.1 of the Manual of Electoral Roll, they can still appoint more BLAs.
