BHABHUA--------------------------During a special campaign launched by the Kudra Police Station administration to curb the illegal liquor trade in the area, a smuggler was arrested with 42.825 liters of IMFL from a grocery store at Pusauli Gola Market. Providing details, Station House Officer (SHO) and Police Inspector Priyesh Priyadarshi stated that a continuous campaign against intoxication and substance abusers is being conducted in strict adherence to the prohibition laws issued by the Bihar government. The police administration received a tip-off that illegal liquor trading was taking place at a grocery store in Pusauli Gola Market. Upon verifying the information, the police conducted an intensive raid at the location and recovered 42.825 liters of IMFL. The smuggler was arrested for the offense; he has been identified as Ashish Kumar Keshri (son of Vinod Sah), a resident of Fakhrabad village. Following the arrest, the accused was interrogated, and the police are currently gathering information regarding the purchase and sale of the liquor and other individuals linked to the network. The police are also attempting to ascertain the source of the seized liquor and its intended destination. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
The police seized the recovered liquor and completed the necessary legal formalities. Subsequently, the accused was produced in court and remanded to jail. Police officials stated that if the involvement of other individuals comes to light, strict action will be taken against them as well. Despite the enforcement of a total liquor ban in Bihar, cases of liquor smuggling continue to surface periodically. In response, the Kaimur police are conducting continuous raids to crack down on illegal liquor traders. Officials affirmed that no one involved in the smuggling, storage, or sale of liquor in the district would be spared, and the campaign would continue unabated.
