SPECIAL CAMPS FOR RATION CARD MAKING AT PANCHAYAT LEVEL FROM SEP 22

PATNA-----------------------The Bihar government has provided significant relief to eligible families who have been deprived of the benefits of the National Food Security Act. The Food and Consumer Protection Department has announced that a special campaign will be launched across the state starting September 22nd, 2025, to issue ration cards for eligible beneficiaries who have been left out. This campaign will be conducted in camp mode to make the process easy and accessible.

This special campaign will begin on September 22nd and continue until October 10th, 2025. The government aims to ensure that no eligible family is deprived of their right to government-subsidized food grains.

For the convenience of citizens, these ration card making camps will be held at the Panchayat Government Buildings located at the headquarters of each Panchayat. The department has issued instructions to ensure that the relevant officials and personnel equipped with computers/laptops are present at each camp site to ensure smooth application process.

How will the ration card be made?

On-the-spot online application: Applications will be received from applicants attending the camp and submitted online on the same day on the ‘Rconline.bihar.gov.in’ portal. Immediate receipt: Immediately after submitting the online application, the applicant will be issued a receipt, which will serve as proof of their application. Eligibility verification: After verification of all applications, their eligibility will be checked as per the rules. Ration card creation: Ration cards will be made and provided to all applicants found eligible in the verification process.

The government has directed all district officials to ensure widespread publicity at the local level about the date and location of the camp, so that maximum needy people can benefit from this campaign. This move is an important opportunity for thousands of families who were waiting for a long time to get ration cards made.
