SASARAM-------------------------Rahul Gandhi today on Sunday (August 17) started his 'Vote Rights Yatra' from Suara Airport Ground in Sasaram, Bihar. Many senior leaders of the Grand Alliance including Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav were present in the huge public meeting organized on this occasion. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and leaders of leftist parties also joined the stage.

He, while addressing the public meeting, said that, this is a fight to save the Constitution. RSS and BJP are trying to destroy the Constitution all over India. Narendra Modi and BJP win every election… In the Lok Sabha, our alliance wins in Maharashtra, and after 4 months, the BJP alliance wins in the same Maharashtra. When we investigated a little, we found out that after the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission magically created 1 crore new voters in Maharashtra. There was a difference of 1 crore voters in Lok Sabha and Assembly. Wherever these new voters come, BJP wins there." Rahul Gandhi said, "When we investigated, all the records were taken out, we found out that more than one lakh votes were stolen in an assembly in Karnataka and because of these votes, BJP won the Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka. When we said this in the press conference, the Election Commission asked us for an affidavit. Affidavits are not asked from BJP people. This is their (Election Commission) data, their figures, but they are asking for an affidavit from me. We asked them for CCTV footage but they refused." Rahul Gandhi said, "All over India, assembly elections, Lok Sabha elections are being stolen and their last conspiracy is to do SIR in Bihar and add new voters, cut voters and steal the Bihar elections. We will not let them steal this election." Let us tell you that this 'Vote Rights Yatra' will pass through 23 districts in a total of 17 days and cover about 50 assembly seats. After the public meeting in Sasaram, Rahul Gandhi will leave for Dehri at 4 pm, from where he will start the march on foot from Thana Chowk. During this, Tejashwi Yadav, Mukesh Sahni and many big leaders of the Grand Alliance will be present with him.
