ARA--------------------------The "Mashal" Kabaddi Girls' Under 14-16 Competition, organized jointly by the Bihar State Sports Authority, the Sports Department, the Education Department, and the Bhojpur District Administration, was inaugurated today with a grand and colorful ceremony at the Sports Building and Gymnasium in Arrah. Participating girls from 38 districts across the state showcased their talents and participated in the state-level competition. The event was held under the directives of Bhojpur District Magistrate, Mr. Tanay Sultania. Present at the inaugural session were Arts and Culture Officer, Mrs. Anupriya, Child Welfare Committee Member, Mr. Manish Kumar Singh, Industries Officer, Mrs. Madhu Kumari, Bihar Athletics Vice President, Mr. Yashwant Singh, and District Sports Officer, Mr. Alok Kumar Gautam. Mr. Alok Kumar Gautam welcomed all guests by presenting them with saplings, promoting environmental protection. The program began with the lighting of lamps and balloons by all guests and participants. Following this, teacher Kaveri and three students from her school, Savitri Shyam Sangeet Mahavidyalaya—Shriya, Vandana, and Nandini—presented the Saraswati Vandana and the welcome song. During her address, Arts and Culture Officer Mrs. Anupriya congratulated the participants from across the state, saying, "Just as you have excelled in your respective districts, you should also excel at the state level and bring glory to your district and state." A total of 684 participating girls, along with 23 technical officials and coaches, participated in the competition. The event was successfully and gracefully conducted by teacher Vijaya Shri and teacher Sunil Kumar Pandey. With great enthusiasm, the girls demonstrated their sportsmanship by chanting, "If Bihar plays, Bihar will flourish." This state-level competition will be held over three days at the Sports Building in Ara. Today's first match was played between West Champaran and Shivhar in the Under-14 category. In which P. Champaran defeated Shivhar by 35/9, the second match was played between Lakhisarai vs Kaimur in which Lakhisarai defeated Kaimur by 18/11, the third match was played between Nawada vs Saharsa in which Saharsa defeated Nawada by 35/4, the fourth match was played between Samastipur vs Begusarai in which Begusarai defeated Samastipur by 20/5, the fifth match was played between Siwana vs Buxar in which Siwana defeated Buxar by 26/10, all the winning teams entered the next round. In the Under 16 category, the first match was played between Shivhar and West Champaran, in which West Champaran defeated Shivhar by 23/22. The second match was played between Nawada and Saharsa, in which Nawada defeated Saharsa by 35/11. Rajneesh Pandey, Mukesh Kumar Singh, Shrikant Pandey, Kumar Vijay, Neeraj Kumar Singh, Krishna Kumar, Gyangasa, Shiv Narayan Pal, Anil Rai were present on the occasion.
