ARA-----------------------A woman died after giving birth in the maternity ward of the city's Sadar Hospital on Sunday morning. Following this, the family created a ruckus in the maternity ward. During the commotion, the female doctor and health workers were accused of negligence in treatment leading to the death. Upon receiving the information, the Town Police arrived at the Sadar Hospital. After considerable effort, the police pacified the family.

According to information, the deceased was the 22-year-old wife of Jitendra Kumar, a resident of Bhopatpur village in the Geedha police station area. The deceased's mother, Aarti Devi, stated that her daughter was pregnant and had come to her maternal home in Dharhara, in the Town police station area, for delivery. On Saturday afternoon, she began experiencing labor pains. The family brought her to the Sadar Hospital around 2 pm, where an ASHA was also present.

Her daughter was examined by a female doctor through ASHA. After examining her, the doctor told her to arrange for blood, and that she would be informed further only after the test results arrived. Around 8 p.m., after the test reports and blood were arranged, she went to the lady doctor to ask if everything was fine. The doctor told her everything was fine and that a normal delivery would take place by nightfall.

A short while later, she was taken to the delivery room by health workers, and Asha accompanied her. But she was not allowed inside. When she went inside, she saw four midwives pressing her daughter's abdomen forcefully. When asked, they told her that the baby was stuck. She asked why they hadn't told her earlier. After a minor operation, her daughter was born a girl. Her condition is also critical and she has been admitted to the SNCU of Sadar Hospital.

Shortly after delivery, her breathing became rapid and her entire body became cold. She informed the lady doctor and health workers, but they said nothing of the sort. A health worker then arrived and began administering oxygen, but her heartbeat was not working. She died a short time later. The family then voluntarily took the body back home without a post-mortem examination.

On the other hand, the deceased's mother, Aarti Devi, has accused the on-duty female doctor and health workers of negligence in her daughter's death. The deceased's family has filed a petition with the Town Police Station, accusing the medical and health workers of negligence in their treatment, demanding action against them. However, the police are investigating the matter on their own.

It is reported that the deceased was married last year. She was the youngest of three brothers and a sister. One of her brothers drowned in Rajgir, Nalanda district, last year. The incident has caused chaos in the deceased's home. Aarti Devi, the mother, and all the family members are inconsolable, weeping profusely.
