ARA------------------------------The erosion of the Ganges River in Jawainiya village, in the Shahpur region of Bhojpur district, has once again become severe. The river's strong current is worsening the erosion, causing fear and anxiety among local villagers. A large crowd of people was gathering to witness the erosion, when a tragic incident occurred on Sunday morning when two young men observing the erosion on the banks of the Ganges suddenly fell into the river. According to eyewitnesses, the ground suddenly began to subside, and the two young men lost control and fell into the Ganges' waves.

This unexpected incident caused panic among those present at the scene. An immediate rescue operation was launched to save the young men trapped in the strong current. Fortunately, the villagers' alertness and quick response averted a major tragedy. Locals quickly arranged for a long rope and threw it to the young men trapped in the river. After tireless efforts, both young men were rescued safely, saving their lives.

Erosion by the Ganges River in Joinia village is not a new problem. The problem of erosion during the monsoon season has been a topic of discussion across the country. Anti-erosion measures were previously implemented by the local administration and the Water Resources Department, but these efforts proved inadequate in the face of the river's ever-increasing power.

The current incident has once again drawn the attention of media personnel to this serious problem. Local residents want the government and relevant departments to take concrete steps to find a permanent solution to this problem. Only scientific measures to change the direction of the river's flow will relieve them of this constant threat. They emphasize the need for immediate protection and administrative monitoring to prevent people from going near the river banks.
