PATNA-------------------------India Alliance has announced the name of former Supreme Court judge Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy as its joint candidate for the upcoming Vice Presidential election. This announcement was made today during an important press conference held at Hotel Maurya in Patna.

Justice Reddy himself was present in the press conference. He clearly said that he is not the representative of any political party, but only the candidate of the Constitution. He said, "The post of Vice President is not only that of the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, but is a symbol of democratic dignity and constitutional balance. My only duty will be to protect the Constitution and democracy."

On this occasion, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav accused the BJP of ending democracy and said that the election is being held by declaring the current Vice President suddenly ill. He said, "This fight is not for power, but democracy versus dictatorship."

Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram said that the land of Bihar has been the mother of democracy and the name of Justice Reddy is a symbol of public trust. At the same time, VIP chief Mukesh Sahni said that the alliance is moving forward with the resolve to protect democracy and the Constitution.

Many senior leaders including RJD state president Mangalilal Mandal, Congress leader Akhilesh Prasad Singh, MP Abdul Bari Siddiqui, CPIML MP Rajaram, CPI leader Ramlal Singh, CPIM leader Lallan Chaudhary and AICC in-charge Krishna Allavaru were present in the press conference.

The alliance leaders said unanimously that this election is not only for the post of Vice President, but is an election to protect democracy and the Constitution.
